Andre Ward will NEVER be beaten says Froch

ward56344

By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten talent Andre Ward (30-0, 15 KOs) is one day away from imprinting himself on boxing history with his fight against IBF/WBA/WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (30-0-1, 26 KOs) on Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

By beating Kovalev, Ward will capture the #1 pound-for-pound spot in boxing, as well as Kovalev’s three 175lb division straps. Former Ward victim Carl Froch, who is now one of the talking heads for Sky Sports, says that Ward WILL NEVER BE BEATEN in his career.

I have to say that I totally agree with Froch. It’s nice that the 39-year-old Froch is giving credit all these years later since he was whipped by him in 2011. It’s better late than never.

Ward: Froch should fight Golovkin

froch8944

By Scott Gilfoid: Former super middleweight champion Carl Froch said earlier on Wednesday that he thinks unbeaten middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin should move up two weight classes to fight light heavyweight Andre Ward at a catchweight of 172 pounds in order to give him a credible opponent to fight.

Froch doesn’t think Golovkin has been fighting credible opponents despite the fact that he’s 36-0 and has defended his middleweight titles countless times. Ward has other ideas though. He wants to see Froch fight Golovkin. If Froch wasn’t willing to fight Golovkin two years ago after his second fight with George Groves, it’s not too likely he’ll take the fight now after he’s been out of the ring for two years.

Golovkin to Froch: You are a clown who talks too much

golovkin17

By Scott Gilfoid: Middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin tore into former super middleweight champion Carl Froch today in response to some of his comments he made recently about Triple G needing to step up and fight some “credible” opponents. Golovkin says that Froch is another “clown” who fails to step up. Golovkin and his promoter Tom Loeffler very much would like to fight Froch if they could get him to agree to a match.

The fight would make millions and likely fill the huge 80,000 seat Wembley Stadium in London, England. Unfortunately, the 39-year-old Froch is showing zero interest in fighting the hard hitting GGG. Froch is happy in his 2-year retirement and doesn’t want to come back to resume his boxing career.

Froch WON’T fight Golovkin, wants him to face Andre Ward

golovkin633

By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) won’t be facing former super middleweight champion Carl Froch, because he’s reportedly saying that he’s retired, almost 40, and that he’s too big for him. Froch says he’s not sure how the rumors started about him and Golovkin potentially facing each other, but he has no plans of taking that fight.

Froch says that Golovkin should move up two weight divisions to face former 168lb champion Andre Ward at a catch-weight of 172lbs. Froch feels this would be Golovkin’s first real test of his boxing career. Froch didn’t come out and admit it, but he seems to be implying that he thinks Ward will beat IBF/WBA/WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev (30-0-1, 26 KOs) in their fight on Saturday night on HBO pay-per-view from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Golovkin vs. Froch possible says Loeffler

golovkin633

By Scott Gilfoid: Middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin’s promoter Tom Loeffler says he’s in talks with Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn about a potential fight between Golovkin and former super middleweight champion Carl Froch (33-2, 24 KOs). Loeffler says initially they were “half joking” about wanting to put a fight together between Golovkin and the retired 39-year-old Froch, but after seeing how much interest the fight talk has generated on social media, he says they’re seriously interested in making the fight.

Loeffler wants to stage the Golovkin-Froch fight at the 80,000 seat Wembey Stadium in London, England. Loeffler believes the Froch vs. Golovkin fight would break the record for tickets sold from the Froch vs. George Groves fight in May 2014 at Wembley Stadium.

Crolla vs. Linares: Froch picks Anthony by stoppage

BOXING

By Scott Gilfoid: Despite WBA World lightweight champion Anthony Crolla facing the arguably more talented fighter than himself in Jorge Linares tonight, Carl Froch is going out on the limb by selecting Crolla to win. Froch thinks Crolla will be knocking the 31-year-old Linares out when the two of them get inside the ring at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, UK.

Just so boxing fans know, Crolla (31-4-3, 13 KOs) has a knockout percentage of 34%, which is not very high. If you’re going to predict a victory, history would show that Crolla is not likely to win by a knockout. I’m just saying.

Froch: Liam Smith can beat Canelo with body shots

1-canelosmithweighin_hoganphotos4

By Scott Gilfoid: It’s not looking good for WBO junior middleweight champion Liam Smith for his title defense tonight against Saul “Caneo” Alvarez, but former super middleweight champion Carl Froch is giving Smith a chance of winning under the right circumstances.

Froch thinks that if Smith, 28, can attack Canelo to the body early, he’ll have a chance of pulling off the upset. Froch believes that Canelo will win the fight though unless Smith can land the perfect body shot.

Froch: Blueprint is there for Liam Smith against Canelo

smith55555

By Scott Gilfoid: Carl Froch questions whether it will be a wise move on WBO junior middleweight champion Liam Smith’s part to get into the trenches with Saul “Canelo Alvarez (47-1-1, 33 KOs) and look to slug with him this Saturday night in their fight at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Froch sees it as potentially a “dangerous game” if Smith chooses to get in close and punch with the 26-year-old Canelo. Froch thinks that the blueprint has already been created by Floyd Mayweather Jr. in how to beat Canelo from his win over him three years ago in 2013. The question is can a fighter like Smith follow Mayweather’s blueprint?

Carl Froch: I would have beaten Golovkin

froch873

By Scott Gilfoid: Former IBF/WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (33-2, 24 KOs) thinks that he would have defeated unbeaten IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) last Saturday night if he had been inside the ring with him instead of Kell Brook and if the two of them were fighting in the 168lb division.

The 39-year-old Froch claims that he would have been “Too big, too strong” for Triple G. Of course, Froch had his chance to fight Golovkin in 2014 when the fight was offered to him by Golovkin’s promoter Tom Loeffler, but instead he retired rather than fight him. You can take that and see it anyway you want.

Froch expects Brook to beat Golovkin

froch8944

By Scott Gilfoid: Carl Froch, sporting his new surgically reduced nose, says he thinks unbeaten Kell Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) can pull off the upset this Saturday night against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) this Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London, England. Froch points out that Golovkin appears to be ill with some kind of virus possibly and he looked weary at today’s weigh-in for the fight.

Froch notes that Brook is VERY confident, and full of energy. He’s also about the same size as Triple G, says Froch. Still, Froch believes that Brook will need to fight the perfect fight for him to have a chance of winning. If he messes up on his tactics, then he’ll lose the match. Froch suggests that Brook focus on using movement and speed early on so that he can avoid getting hit by Golovkin.
