By Jason Kim: 24-year-old former featherweight contender Bernabe Concepcion (29-6-1, 15 KO’s) lost for the fourth time in his last six fights in getting stopped in the 7th round by undefeated Miguel “Mikey” Garcia (28-0, 24 KO’s) last Saturday night in a one-sided drubbing at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Mikey Garcia dominates and stops Concepcion in the 7th round
By Dan Ambrose: He gave it his best shot but in the end Bernabe Concepcion (29-6-1, 15 KO’s) was little more than a human punching bag on Saturday night in getting stopped by unbeaten highly ranked featherweight contender Miguel “Mikey” Garcia (28-0, 24 KO’s) in the 8th round on the undercard of the Juan Manuel Lopez vs. Orlando Salido II rematch at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente, San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Salido TKOs Lopez in rematch; Garcia stops Concepcion
By Jim Dower: Juan Manuel Lopez (31-2, 28 KO’s) gave it his best shot but it wasn’t good enough to unseat WBO featherweight champion Orlando Salido (38-11-2, 26 KO’s) in their rematch on Saturday night, losing by a 10th round TKO at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente, San Juan, Puerto Rico. Lopez took a pounding in the fight and was not surprisingly dropped in the 10th after eating a hard right hand from Salido.

Bernabe Concepcion vs. Mikey Garcia mismatch on Lopez-Salido undercard on March 10th
By Chris Williams: If you want to see a slaughter on March 10th, you’ll need to make sure you tune in for undercard fight on the Juan Manuel Lopez vs. Orlando Saldio fight card between unbeaten featherweight contender Miguel Angel “Mikey” Garcia (27-0, 23 KO’s) and former featherweight contender Bernabe Concepcion (29-5-1, 15 KO’s) at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Did Concepcion come out of the loss to Lopez more of a star than before?
By Jim Dower: Sometimes losing a fight isn’t that bad for a fighter’s career. In the case of featherweight Bernabe Concepcion (28-4-1, 15 KO’s) it might not be that bad of a thing that he was trounced in a 2nd round knockout by WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez (29-0, 26 KO’s) last Saturday night in Puerto Rico.
How come Concepcion got whipped so badly by Lopez?
By Dave Lahr: Anytime you get a fighter that has been slaughtered as bad as Bernabe Concepcion (28-4-1, 15 KO’s) did last Saturday night by WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez (29-0, 26 KO’s) you have to ask questions about what went wrong. After all, Concepcion was ranked in the top 10, groomed by Manny Pacquiao as a future champion and loved by his fellow countryman in the Philippines.
Lopez stops Concepcion in 2
By Dave Lahr: WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez (29-0, 26 KO’s) destroyed Bernabe Concepcion (28-4-1, 15 KO’s) in a 2nd round knockout just moments ago on Saturday night at the Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I hate to gloat but I predicted this outcome. Concepcion, 22, was knocked down three times in the fight and looked like a bird at times the way that he was flying around the ring from the big shots that Lopez was hammering him with. Conception just didn’t have what it takes to match up with the talented, bigger and much stronger Lopez.
Lopez-Concepcion undercard results: Donaire stops Marquez
By Jim Dower: WBO super flyweight interim champion Nonito Donaire (24-1, 16 KO’s) overcame a lackluster start to stop knockout artist Hernan Marquez (27-2, 20 KO’s) in the 8th round on Saturday night at the Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Donaire, 27, knocked the much smaller Marquez down two times in the fight, dropping him in the 5th and a final time in the 8th. The bout was stopped by referee Roberto Ramirez at 2:59 of the 8th round following the second knockdown of the fight.
Is there any chance Concepcion won’t get knocked out by Lopez?
By Dave Lahr: Forget about Bernabe Concepcion (28-3, 15 KO’s) having any chance at beating WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez (28-0, 25 KO’s) tonight when the two fighters meet at the Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Concepcion has no chance of winning this fight.
