WBC super-middleweight champion Carl Froch is convinced he will crack America if he beats Jermain Taylor when the pair clash on Saturday 25 April at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket in Connecticut. Froch told the Steve Bunce Boxing Hour on Setanta Sports News that a win over mandatory contender Jermain Taylor would make him a household name stateside. He said:

Cotto vs. Berto or Clottey?
By Matt Stein: after dismantling challenger Michael Jennings on Saturday night in an easy 5th round TKO victory, the question in the minds of many boxing fans is who will Miguel Cotto be facing next? Although many would love nothing better than to see Cotto face Paul Williams or fight a rematch with Antonio Margarito, it’s extremely doubtful that Cotto’s promotional team would want to risk putting him with such tough fighters like these.
Why Did Berto Fight So Poorly Against Collazo?
By Matt Stein: I don’t want to sound overly harsh about WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto’s performance against Luis Collazo on Saturday night, but I got to be frank, he looked positively terrible in there. If you don’t mind seeing unskilled brawlers fight, then I suppose Berto made the fight worth watching but not for me. He took far too much punishment against an opponent that he should have been able to walk right through if he was as good as some people say he is.
Berto Wins, But Is His Future Limited?
By Chris Williams: On Saturday night, WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto fought a war against challenger Luis Collazo, grinding out a 12-unanimous decision in a fight that is already be considered as a candidate for a fight of the year. For Berto, it was his 2nd title defense of his WBC belt and easily the toughest opponent of his five year career.
Berto Defeats Collazo In Controversial Decision
By Eric Thomas: World Boxing Council welterweight champion Andre Berto (24-0, 19 KOs) overcame being stunned in the 1st round by his number #1 challenger Luis Collazo (29-4, 14 KOs) to come back to win a close – and controversial – 12-round unanimous decision on Saturday night at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, in Biloxi, Mississippi. The final judges’ scores were 116-111, 114-113 and 114-113.
Berto vs. Collazo on Saturday
By Dave Lahr: WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto (23-0, 19 KOs) may not know it or not but he has a real test in front of him Saturday with challenger Luis Collazo (29-3, 14 KOs). This is an opponent that speed alone won’t be the answer for, so hopefully Berto has some other tools to fall back on in case Collazo starts giving him problems. Berto’s experience up until now has been nothing short of pitiful for a champion, having had hardly any notable fighters that he’s had to prove himself against.

Mayweather vs. The Welterweight Division
By Daniel Poland: Everybody in boxing is now talking about the possible ring return of Floyd Mayweather Jr., who hasn’t fought since his 10th round knockout of Ricky Hatton in December 2007. It has taken a year without Mayweather for the rumors to start, and I personally believe the sport of boxing needs Mayweather at this point. The talk is Mayweather is lining up a mega fight with the current Pound for Pound king Manny Pacquiao. That is if Pacquiao can get past his next opponent Ricky Hatton in May, which a lot of boxing experts are predicting he should do.
Berto vs. Collazo on January 17th
By Chris Williams: Talent, speed, and a brittle chin, World Boxing Council welterweight champion Andre Berto (23-0, 19 KOs) has all of them. The unvarnished truth about Berto is that he’s a talented fighter but one loaded with flaws, starting with his chin and ending with his limited 5’8″ size, small for a welterweight. Some people see him as a poor man’s Floyd Mayweather Jr., except that Mayweather was good at blocking punches and making his opponents miss.
