By Jason Kim: Trainer Emanuel Steward is less than thrilled at IBF/WBO Wladimir Klitschko’s next opponent Alexander Povetkin, who Klitschko will be defending his titles against in September of this year. Steward, naturally, would much prefer to see Wladimir fight WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, but Steward doesn’t think that fight will ever happen because Haye seems reluctant to take the fight against Klitschko.

Wladimir Klitschko likely to face Povekin next and not Haye
By Matt Stein: Dan Rafael of ESPN is reporting that IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko will likely be facing his number #1 IBF mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin next rather than fighting WBA heavyweight champion David Haye in a unification match like Wladimir had been hoping for. According to Rafael, Klitschko’s manger Bernd Boente said that Wladimir made a 50-50 financial offer to the 29-year-old Haye for a fight that would take place in the fall of this year, with no options for future bouts with Haye.
Wladimir Klitschko now looking to defend title against Povetkin
By Jim Dower: The IBF’s deadline passed for IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko to put together a unification bout with World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye a few days ago. Wladimir and his management team will now start looking to put together a fight against the IBF mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin. Wladimir was hoping to put together a fight with the 29-year-old Haye. However, Haye wanted more time to spend with his family and rest. Klitschko’s management will continue to try and put together a fight between Haye in the future after Klitschko gets finished with his title defense against Povetkin, provided he beats the former Russian Olympic Gold Medalist.
Klitschko Should Be Eyeing Povetkin or Haye not Areola-Adamek Winner
By Armando Paz: There are really only two viable options for Wladimir Klitschko (54-3 48 KO’s) for his next defense of his heavyweight titles and that is either Alexander Povetkin (19-0 14 KO’s) or David Haye (24-1 22 KO’s). The boxing public is not going to be deceived with the winner of the Areola-Adamek match is a worthy match for Klitschko.
Arum says Samuel Peter prepared to fight Wladimir Klitschko
By Eric Thomas: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum wants his fighter, former World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Samuel Peter (34-3, 27 KO’s), to fight IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48 KO’s) if the IBF mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin (19-0, 14 KO’s) doesn’t take the fight with Klitschko next, according to Fight News. Arum plans on making it so that Klitschko will have to fight Peter next if Povetkin doesn’t face Klitschko. The reason why Povetkin wouldn’t be facing Wladimir next would be if WBA heavyweight champion David Haye paid Povetkin a step aside fee, so that Haye could fight Wladimir before Povetkin.
Will Haye pay Povetkin to step aside so that he can face Wladimir Klitschko?
By Eric Thomas: In the latest boxing news, there is talk of WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (24-1, 22 KO’s) possibly paying top IBF mandatory heavyweight contender Alexander Povetkin (19-0, 14 KO’s) 700,000 Euros to step aside so that Haye can fight IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48 KO’s). In American dollars, that comes out to roughly $935,000. This is the fight that Haye has been talking about for the past year, and it’s a fight that would bring in a huge pay day of a reported 10 million Euros for both Klitschko and Haye.
Would Haye be a champion if he faced Arreola, Povetkin, Solis and Peter before challenging for the title?
By Scott Gilfoid: When I look at the easy path that WBA heavyweight champion David Haye took in order to get a shot at the title and then look at which of the heavyweight champions Haye chose to fight, it makes me wonder about him. After moving up from the cruiserweight division in 2008, Haye has faced Monte Barrett, Nikolay Valuev and John Ruiz. Haye, instead of taking on the most dangerous of the heavyweight champions Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko, Haye chose to fight the slow moving WBA heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev.
Samuel Peter has to wait for Povetkin-Klitschko before he gets his shot
By Jim Dower: With his 2nd round knockout win over Nagy Aguilera in the International Boxing Federation heavyweight title eliminator bout on March 12th, the 29-year-old Peter has assured himself a fight against IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (53-3, 47 KO’s) in the future. The only thing that Peter has to do now is wait for Klitschko to get finished with his fight this Saturday night against American challenger Eddie Chambers, and then after that Klitschko has one more fight, a bout against Alexander Povetkin, the International Boxing Federation mandatory challenger who has been waiting two long years to get a shot against Wladimir.

Wladimir’s Next two title Defenses – Povetkin and Chambers
By Dave Lahr: With Eddie Chambers decisive 12-round unanimous decision victory over number #1 ranked WBO heavyweight contender, Chambers solved the last piece of the puzzle for who will be IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko’s WBO mandatory challenger in early 2010. Klitschko, 33, now has Alexander Povetkin ahead of him later on this year for a mandatory challenger for Wladimir’s IBF heavyweight title, and then Chambers next year.
