The British heavyweight rivals will meet at Principality Stadium after a dispute over the venue delayed their long-awaited fight.
Tyson Fury (36-2-1, 25 KOs) and Anthony Joshua (30-4, 27 KOs) will finally fight on Friday, December 11, 2026, at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, live on Netflix. The confirmation ends months of negotiations over where the British heavyweight clash would take place.
The venue dispute is settled. Joshua’s camp had insisted on staging the bout in Britain, while New York’s Madison Square Garden became a serious alternative.
“I can now confirm that Fury Vs Joshua will be coming to the UK, as I promised British boxing fans. The time for talking is over……..” Turki Alalshikh wrote on X.
Both fighters signed earlier this year. A date and venue remained unresolved, however, allowing the dispute to drag on despite their agreement to face each other. Fury repeatedly blamed Joshua in public and suggested he could pursue a third fight against Oleksandr Usyk.
Dana White said: “For more than a decade, boxing fans have been clamoring for the heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Together, they bring 66 wins, 52 knockouts and multiple heavyweight world titles into the ring. On December 11, two of the biggest heavyweights of this generation finally collide and the winner will take a significant place in heavyweight history.”
Netflix says White and The Ring will collaborate to promote the fight, despite Eddie Hearn’s earlier insistence that White would not be its promoter.
Joshua has boxed at Principality Stadium twice before, stopping Carlos Takam and then outpointing Joseph Parker to add the WBO heavyweight belt to his collection. He returns to face the British rival whose name has followed him through years of callouts and failed negotiations.
Both men came through summer bouts.
Joshua survived two first-round knockdowns against Kristian Prenga in July before stopping him in the second. Fury stopped Mariusz Wach after seven rounds in Thailand that month, having returned in April to outpoint Aslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Those victories kept their meeting alive. Now the former heavyweight champions have a confirmed December date in Britain, with Netflix carrying the broadcast.
