Abdullah Mason (21-0, 18 KOs) rallied from a slow start to stop Albert Bell (28-1, 9 KOs) in the 12th round, successfully defending his WBO lightweight title in his hometown. Bell boxed well through the first half of the fight, but Mason gradually took over with relentless pressure and body punching before scoring two knockdowns in the final round. The referee’s stoppage after the second knockdown sparked some debate, but Mason had seized complete control and finished the night with an impressive comeback victory.

Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington (18-0, 10 KOs) retained his WBC featherweight title with a unanimous decision over Rene Palacios (19-1-1, 10 KOs), winning by scores of 118-110, 117-111, and 116-112. Carrington controlled most of the fight with his jab, footwork, and combination punching, although Palacios had his moments, appearing to score an unruled knockdown in the eighth round and hurting the champion with a body shot in the 11th. Despite those tense moments, Carrington closed the fight well to make a successful first defense of his WBC belt.

Delante “Tiger” Johnson (18-0, 8 KOs) earned a convincing 10-round unanimous decision over Christopher “Machine Gun” Guerrero (16-1, 9 KOs) by scores of 100-92, 99-91, and 99-91.

Deric “Scooter” Davis (12-0, 10 KOs) earned an eight-round unanimous decision over Carlos Ramos (18-5-1, 10 KOs) by scores of 78-74, 78-74, and 77-75.

Ibrahim Mason (3-0, 3 KOs) stopped Erik Hanley (1-3, 1 KO) in the second round of their scheduled four-round super featherweight bout with a dominant performance. Mason controlled the opening round with crisp, accurate punching before dropping Hanley four times in Round 2, mixing sharp counters with body shots until the referee halted the contest. The emphatic victory kept the unbeaten prospect perfect and gave the Mason family another hometown win on the card.

Abdurrahman Mason (3-0, 2 KOs) outboxed Alvaro Huizar Cabral over four rounds, earning a unanimous decision by scores of 40-36 on all three cards. Mason scored the bout’s lone knockdown in the second round and controlled the action with effective body punching and sharp shots on the inside. It marked the first of three victories for the Mason brothers on the card.
