The WBC welterweight champion says he hopes to work with Naoya Inoue during a trip to Japan and stream the sessions for fans

Ryan Garcia says he wants to train with Naoya Inoue during an upcoming visit to Tokyo. The WBC welterweight champion also said he would like to stream the workouts if the sessions with the undisputed junior featherweight champion take place.

The proposed sessions would bring together two world champions from different weight classes. Ryan currently holds the WBC welterweight title, while Inoue is the undisputed champion at junior featherweight.

One notable part of Ryan’s post was his desire to stream the workouts.

One thing Ryan mentioned on his X post was him wanting to stream the workouts. What Ryan didn’t say is whether he’d run that idea by Naoya to see whether he was on board with it or not, nor did he give a time for when he would be training with the Japanese star.

At this stage, Ryan’s comments appear to reflect a goal rather than a finalized arrangement. While he publicly outlined the plan, there has been no announcement from Inoue regarding a potential training session.

If the workouts do take place, they would bring together champions separated by more than 20 pounds in weight. Ryan campaigns at welterweight, while Inoue has built his championship run at junior featherweight.

The idea remains one Ryan hopes to make happen during his visit to Tokyo, with the added possibility of giving fans a look inside the sessions through a livestream.
