UFC president declined to rule out Fury’s involvement and promised an announcement in the near future
Dana White had a clear opportunity to dismiss speculation linking Tyson Fury to Zuffa Boxing. Instead, the UFC president suggested an announcement is coming soon, adding fresh intrigue to Fury’s future in combat sports.
“We’ll make an announcement soon,” White said. “Listen, let me reiterate: judge me January 1st of 2027 on what we’ve done this year with boxing. All these other guys talking a lot of smack. I haven’t said anything about any of these guys, I haven’t talked sh-t about anybody or any of those stuff. I’m in my lane, I’m doing my thing. Just sit back and watch. We’ll make an announcement soon, for sure.”
White’s comments came after Fury had already teased that the UFC boss had a “massive” announcement involving him, with Fury suggesting that White should be the one to reveal the details.
When asked separately about signing with White, Fury offered a similarly cryptic response, declining to provide a definitive answer while stopping short of dismissing the reports altogether.
The exchange has only intensified speculation that Fury could play a major role in Zuffa Boxing’s plans moving forward. White has repeatedly stated that he intends to make a significant impact in the sport this year, and Fury’s appearance at the event ensured that boxing became one of the night’s biggest talking points.
For now, there has been no official confirmation that Fury has signed with Zuffa Boxing. However, White had multiple opportunities to deny the possibility and chose not to do so.
Fury is expected to return later this year in what has been described as a stay-busy bout before a potential showdown with Anthony Joshua. While a Joshua fight has yet to be formally announced, it remains one of the biggest attractions available in boxing.
