UFC heavyweight champion becomes first signing in Eddie Hearn’s new management venture
Tom Aspinall has become the first athlete signed to Eddie Hearn’s new Matchroom Talent Agency.
The UFC heavyweight champion joins the venture in a commercial partnership while continuing his fighting career.
The announcement was confirmed Thursday, March 5, as Matchroom revealed the creation of its new talent management division. The agency has been established by chairman Eddie Hearn to represent leading figures across sport and entertainment, managing their brands while securing sponsorship and media opportunities
The new subsidiary will operate alongside Matchroom Sport’s existing global businesses, including Matchroom Boxing, the Professional Darts Corporation, World Snooker and Matchroom MultiSport.
Aspinall, 32, became the first British UFC heavyweight champion in 2025 and is widely regarded as one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in mixed martial arts. Under the agreement he will continue working with his existing media and management team, while Matchroom Talent Agency provides additional services covering commercial partnerships, publishing, digital projects, broadcast opportunities and legal support.
Hearn said the project reflects his long-standing background in athlete representation and his intention to build another major platform within the Matchroom structure.
“I started my professional career in Athlete management and over the past 30 years, I have built a wealth of experience in building global superstars,” said Matchroom chairman Eddie Hearn.
“We believe in partnership and transparency with our clients but, most importantly, always delivering exceptional and innovative work. Grounded in honesty and fierce commitment, Matchroom Talent Agency is about transforming careers through relentless ambition and telling it straight.”
Matchroom has spent more than four decades promoting major sporting events across multiple disciplines. The move places Matchroom among a growing number of sports companies expanding into athlete brand management and commercial representation.
Hearn said Aspinall was the ideal athlete to launch the company’s roster.
“UFC World Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall is the perfect embodiment of that and he is the ideal, inaugural member of our team.”
Aspinall welcomed the partnership and said the collaboration could open new opportunities beyond the octagon.
“I’m really excited to welcome Eddie [Hearn] and the Matchroom Sport group in a commercial and advisory role, and to become the first athlete to join the new Matchroom Talent Agency,” Aspinall said.
“Eddie has built one of the biggest brands in sport and understands how to take athletes to the next level, both inside and outside of competition.”
Hearn and Aspinall are scheduled to appear together at a press conference in London on March 6 to present the new agency and discuss the partnership.
