Chris Eubank Jr Targeted For Mbilli Or Sheeraz Showdown

Chris Eubank Jr is being steered toward the super middleweight title picture with WBC backing now in place. With Frank Warren advancing Hamzah Sheeraz as an option, the division is beginning to close ranks around fights that carry immediate consequence.

The sanctioning review pulls Eubank toward the belt while Mbilli holds championship ground with contenders gathering behind him. Mandatory positioning often dictates negotiation terms, and Eubank now enters that conversation with institutional backing.

“Absolutely. Chris Eubank a tremendous fighter. I believe he sacrificed too much with the weight and he’s a natural fighter for that division. Great potential. Super fighter,” WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman told Sky Sports. “He’s a world-class fighter without a doubt.”

Mbilli operates with short combinations that add up across late rounds, the type of work that tests conditioning and discipline. Eubank would be thrown straight into hard rounds.

The WBC is set to straighten out the title picture in the coming weeks, with a line of hungry contenders stacking up behind Mbilli, all looking for their shot.

“We’re going to address the situation in the following weeks to see what is coming up for Mbilli and the division. Of course, Canelo, [Jaime] Munguia, Lester Martinez, Luka Plantic. There are so many fighters who can make great fights for the champion, Mbilli,” Sulaiman told Sky Sports.

Warren approached it like a promoter ready to close the deal.

“I would do that all day long. All day long. I’d bet my house on Hamzah doing a job,” Warren told Sky.

Sheeraz carries reach, straight punching, and finishing accuracy that travel well against aggressive entries. That style forces Eubank to create distance early and accept  tough rounds.

Eubank’s return timeline still aligns with full physical recovery, yet the division rarely pauses. Once the order tightens, contenders either accept the call or lose ground. At super middleweight, hesitation rarely survives the rankings.
