Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney exchanged vicious trash talk on social media today, saying they look different now that they’re getting help. It’s unclear which of them unleashed the dogs of war first with the insults. Whoever it was, they started a firestorm.
Ryan Promises a Slap on Sight
Ryan (24-2, 20 KOs), who is up 1-0 on the win column from the trouncing he did of Devin last year, said he’s going to “slap” him when he sees him.
It remains to be seen if they’re going to fight in 2026, because Kingry has got a full plate already, challenging WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios on February 21, 2026.
Why Turki Favors Benn Over Devin
If Ryan wins that fight, he’ll be facing WBC mandatory Conor Benn on May 5, 2026, in Las Vegas. Promoter Eddie Hearn let the cat out of the bag today, saying that Turki Alalshikh says he wants to put the Garcia-Benn fight on Cinco de Mayo weekend on May 5th. Interestingly, Turki intends to do that fight rather than the rematch between Devin and Ryan.
What may have caused Alalshikh to lose interest in the Garcia-Haney 2 rematch is Devin’s back-to-back boring performances against Brian Norman Jr. and Jose Ramirez in 2025. Turki looked furious, sitting in the front row in both of those fights, watching Haney run and hold.
Haney Drops the đ Accusation
