Two years ago, he was headlining a Top Rank Boxing card in Verona, California, and now heavyweight contender Stephan “Big Shot” Shaw (21-2, 16 KOs) is working for Amazon while waiting for his promoter to provide him with a new fight date.

Back in early 2025, Stephan Shaw signed a promotional deal with ProBox TV. The partnership was designed to keep him active throughout the year, but as things played out, the expected schedule didn’t come together, and as a result, Shaw had to find other means of employment.

A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Stephan Shaw made his pro boxing debut back in December 2013 when he stopped Jose Hermosillo in the first round. He would go on to win his next seventeen fights.

On January 14, 2023, the then-unbeaten Stephan Shaw took a step up in class as he faced the hard-hitting Top Rank contender Efe Ajagba. It was a very competitive bout, but unfortunately for Shaw, all three judges scored the contest 96-94 in favor of Efe Ajagba.

Six months later, Stephan Shaw was back in action as he stepped inside the squared circle to battle Joseph Goodall. It was an action-packed fight that concluded when the Australian heavyweight Joseph Goodall stopped Shaw in the sixth round.

After losing two fights in a row, Shaw bounced back by posting a pair of TKO victories. In January 2025, Stephan Shaw made a significant career move when he signed with ProBox TV. As part of the deal, Shaw was contracted to fight three times a year.

Three months after signing the deal with ProBox, Stephan Shaw was in action, as he faced Rafael Akpejiori. With 2:31 left to go in the opening round, Shaw knocked Akpejiori out cold when he landed a left hook followed by a vicious overhand right.

In his debut with ProBox TV, Shaw made an emphatic statement. After the dominant victory over Akpejiori, Shaw was expecting to receive two more opportunities to perform under the bright lights, but as is often the case in the constantly shifting boxing schedule, the bouts never materialized.

With fight dates across the sport frequently moving due to budgets, timing, and available slots, Shaw found himself waiting longer than anticipated for his next appearance.

Due to the extended period without a confirmed fight date, Shaw had to join the workforce. For the past month, heavyweight boxing contender Stephan Shaw has been working as a DSP Delivery Driver for Amazon.

Shaw stated he would rather be in the ring, but as a man, a father, and a husband, he must provide for his family. While working at Amazon, some of Shaw’s co-workers recognize him, and they all want to go to his next bout to see him fight live.

During his everyday life as a high-level boxer, Shaw’s average day during training camp consisted of running long distances, sprinting, sparring, shadowboxing, and engaging in strength and conditioning exercises. Now, his workdays as a DSP driver involve delivering 100-200 packages per day.

The 33-year-old Stephan Shaw didn’t envision himself working for Amazon, but that’s his new reality at the moment. Shaw remains optimistic regarding an immediate return to the ring. Shaw is hopeful his return to the squared circle will be a main event status bout in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.
