Brian Norman Jr. got Devin Haney upset during their face-off promo, letting him know the injuries that he could suffer when he connects with one of his big power shots in their co-feature fight in eight days on DAZN PPV at the Ring IV card on November 22nd in Riyadh.
Haney Tries to Downplay the Power
Haney (32-0, 16 KOs) acknowledged that unbeaten WBO welterweight champion Norman Jr. possesses punching power, but says he’s never heard of the guys that he’d knocked out.
Devin was letting the 24-year-old Norman Jr. know that his power isn’t as good as some think it is because he’s only knocked out obscure opposition during his seven-year pro career.
“Names Don’t Matter” Moment
Norman Jr. argues that just because Devin hasn’t heard of his opponents, it doesn’t mean anything. He can still punch and will do damage to him when they meet on November 22nd. One can tell from looking at Norman’s shots that he’s got the power to hurt anyone that Haney has fought during his career.
Most of Haney’s fights in the pro ranks have been against small lightweights, in which he’s had a big size advantage. Those fighters would have serious trouble taking the power that Norman Jr. dishes out.
Haney’s Nerves Show
You could tell from watching the interaction that Devin is nervous about this fight with Norman Jr. He obviously knows what a bad knockout loss would do to his career, as it would be his third straight poor performance since 2024.
Moreover, it would likely wipe out any chances of a rematch with Ryan Garcia happening in 2026. That’s not to say that the fight wouldn’t eventually happen, but it would require a short rebuild on Haney’s part.
Turki Alalshikh would have to be willing to be patient by letting Haney use up one of his fights in his three-fight contract on a quick rebuild if he were to be knocked out by Norman Jr. Putting him back in with Norman Jr. for a rematch would be a bad idea.
Devin Haney: “I think he can punch. I do think he has power, but he’s shown it against guys that we’ve never seen before,” said Haney to DAZN Boxing about Brian Norman Jr. “I don’t know these guys that he fought.’
Brian Norman Jr: “Just because you don’t know them don’t mean nothing.”
Haney: “I’ve been boxing for how long? I’ve been at this top level.”
Norman Jr: “Just because you don’t know these people don’t mean nothing.”
Haney: “The world don’t know these names.”
Norman Jr: “I don’t give a damn what you know or don’t know. I know what I carry in these gloves.
Haney: “I do believe that you’ve got power.”
Injury Threats Fly
Norman Jr: “If I hit you on the arm, you’re ankle is going to break.”
Haney: “It sounds good.”

Norman Jr: “I might tear your meniscus. You ever had your torn meniscus, brother?”
Haney: “It ain’t ever going to happen. You ain’t going to do it.”
Norman Jr: “You’ll walk out with an ankle brace on.”
Haney: “You ain’t going to do it. You do it to the bums.”
Norman Jr: “Slap this thing on after the first round.”
Haney: “Knock it off. He’s really a bum. I really didn’t want to say nothing, but he’s really a bum. I never even heard of this man until two years ago.”
Norman Jr: “Once again, the names don’t matter.”
Haney: “He’s nobody.”
Norman Jr: “I’m fixing to take a name after this. ATL stand up.”
