Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez predicted victory today in his three-belt super flyweight unification fight against champion Fernando ‘Puma’ Martinez for their 12-round contest this Saturday at Ring IV’s event on November 22nd at the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Riyadh’s Hidden Gem
The Matchroom promoted WBA and WBO super flyweight champion Rodriguez (22-0, 15 KOs) is going up against the unbeaten WBA champion ‘Puma’ Martinez (18-0, 9 KOs). It’s one of the 25-year-old Bam Rodriguez’s toughest fights of his career, and it could grab the attention from the other fights on this card.
Rodriguez vs. Martinez is fighting on the undercard of David Benavidez vs. Anthony Yarde on DAZN PPV. The event is priced at $59.99 for U.S and Canadian fans. In the UK, the price is £24.99. There’s also the DAZN Ultimate tier, which covers Saturday’s Ring IV: Night of the Champions event.
“This is the guy. This is everybody’s favorite fighter in boxing. This is everybody’s favorite fighter on the card, and this is definitely one of our favorite fighters,” said Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn during today’s final press conference about Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez.
Hearn is doing his job by promoting his fighter, ‘Bam’ Rodriguez, as “everybody’s favorite fighter.” Rodriguez is a good fighter, but it’s a bit of a stretch calling him “everybody’s favorite.” As far as who is the favorite fighter, that would be a tough one to call.

Hearn Betting Big
“This is the only reigning Ring Magazine champion on this card. This guy has done it all. Trainer Robert Garcia and Kevin Rooney told me about this guy for years and years. In just one week’s notice, he [Rodriguez] stepped up two divisions to win the [WBC super flyweight] world title to beat Carlos Cuadras [on February 5, 2022]. He never looked back,” said Hearn about ‘Bam’ Rodriguez.
If the 34-year-old Argentinian Martinez defeats ‘Bam’ Rodriguez on Saturday, Hearn is going to have to do some explaining about what went wrong. He’s being groomed for an eventual fight against Naoya ‘Monster’ Inoue. Losing to ‘Pum’ Martinez would be a real blow to his career. Martinez looked impressive, beating Kazuto Ioka in back-to-back fights in Japan.
“Tune in on DAZN this Saturday night. You’ll see what Eddie Hearn said about me. I’m a special fighter. I’m going to go out there and prove to everyone once again,” said Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez at today’s final press conference for his unification fight against Fernando Martinez this Saturday.
Rodriguez has looked like pure gold in his last four fights, beating Phumelela Cafu, Pedro Guevara, Juan Francisco Estrada, and Sunny Edwards since 2023. What makes those victories more impressive is that ‘Bam’ stopped all four of them. So, it’s understandable why Hearn is banging on about how great Rodriguez is.
“This is going to be another fantastic performance from myself, and I’m ready to go out there and get the job done,” said ‘Bam’ Rodriguez. “Come Saturday night, I’m going to come out victorious and take these belts back to them [kids].”
