Jake Paul and Netflix are looking at a possible substitute to replace Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis for the November 14th exhibition fight due to the allegations against him of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend. That fight is now looking shaky. The bout is supposed to take place at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
Netflix Scrambles To Save The November 14 Event
Boxing insider, Julius Julianis, is reporting that Tank Davis has already been “ruled out” of the Jake Paul exhibition match for November 14th. These are the fighters who have been offered to step in as the replacement opponent for Jake:
- Ryan Garcia
- Anthony Joshua
- Edgar Berlanga
- Terence Crawford
- Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Some of those options would be an upgrade over Tank Davis in terms of fan interest. Bringing in Ryan Garcia, Joshua, Crawford, or Mayweather would be interesting for fans. Given the popularity of Crawford and Mayweather, their purse requirements would be a factor in bringing them in as a late replacement.
Tank Davis is expected to earn a $40 million purse for the Jake Paul exhibition. Would Crawford or Mayweather agree to that sum, given their caviar tastes?
Ryan Garcia: The Instagram King On Deck
Bringing in Ryan Garcia would work well, as he’s popular on Instagram with 12 million followers. Between him and Jake Paul’s massive following on social media, the November 14th exhibition would receive a lot of attention.
“I hear that Gervonta Davis has already been ruled out of fighting Jake Paul, and Ryan Garcia, Anthony Joshua, Edgar Berlanga, Terence Crawford, and Floyd Mayweather have been offered the chance to fight Jake on the scheduled date or at a later date,” said Julius Julianis on X.
Netflix and reps for Jake Paul have been exploring potential replacements for Gervonta Davis, sources familiar with the situation told @SInow. Paul-Davis, scheduled for November 14th, is in limbo after new allegations of domestic violence against Davis.
