Brian Norman Jr’s father, Brian Sr, predicts that Devin Haney will be in “panic” mode in the first round of their fight on November 22, 2025, in Riyadh. He says he’s not sure if Haney (32-0, 16 KOs) will “disqualify” himself by making it an ugly fight to escape the situation.
Norman Sr. Questions Haney’s Nerves
Haney’s last fight against Jose Ramirez on May 2nd left some fans with the impression that he’s still mentally shaken by what he endured against Ryan Garcia on April 20, 2024. Against a fighter who is slow and long in the tooth, Devin had a look of terror throughout the 12-round fight.
The pressure and the power that WBO welterweight champion Norman Jr. (28-0, 22 KOs) will bring to the November 22nd fight is far more than the faded ex-unified 140-lb champion Ramirez brought last May at Times Square.
“He Won’t Go 12 Rounds” Promise
Brian Sr. says Devin is “not going 12 rounds” with Norman Jr. He’s going to get knocked out, no matter how much running and holding he does in the fight. Those survival-oriented tactics won’t save Haney in this fight.
“You have so many different arguments about Brian Norman Jr., and then you go and attempt to do the exact same thing as Brian Norman Jr. has always been all of his life genetically. Brian Norman don’t lift no weights at all,” said Norman Sr. to MillCity Boxing, talking about how Devin Haney is trying to bulk up for the November 22nd fight.
Haney has packed on quite a bit of muscle in training camp, giving him the appearance of a middleweight. The picture of Haney standing next to his sparring partner, middleweight Troy Isley, showed how big he’s become. He had more size on him than the 5’10” Isley.
“Does it make Devin slower? Do the same rules apply to Devin when you say muscles don’t win fights. These people are just yappin. It’s nervous energy,” said Norman Sr. about Haney and his father, Bill.
“It’ll Be Panic From the Bell”
“Initially, it’s going to be panic in the first round. I don’t know if he’s going to disqualify himself. I hope he doesn’t make it an ugly fight, but he’s not going to fight. He’s not going 12 rounds with Brian Norman Jr.”
