Chris Eubank Jr’s trainer, Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre, predicted today that Chris will have an easier time defeating Conor Benn in their rematch at 160 pounds on November 15 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England.
There will be a 10-lb rehydration limit for the fight, meaning they can’t weigh more than 170 pounds on the morning of the battle on November 15. Eubank Jr-Benn 2 will be shown live on DAZN PPV, priced at £19.95 in the UK and $24.99 in the U.S.
A Lucrative ‘Unfinished Business’
While there are no world titles at stake for the Eubank Jr. vs. Benn II rematch, there is a possibility that the winner could face either Terence Crawford or the recently beaten Canelo Alvarez next in May 2026.
The Eubank Jr.-Benn II rematch is billed as “Unfinished Business.” Some fans view that as code language to mean, ‘There’s more money to grab.’ Their previous fight earlier this year, on April 26, did excellent numbers. According to The Ring, it did 620,000 PPV buys on DAZN.
The Real Reason for a Rematch
Benn’s promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom, stated that it sold over 1 million buys. If we’re going by The Ring’s 620,000 buy today, Eubank Jr. vs. Benn hauled in £12.3 million.
If we examine the rematch from a logical standpoint, there’s no reason for it other than to generate more revenue for the fighters and promoters. Eubank Jr. (35-3, 25 KOs) soundly defeated the inexperienced Benn (23-1, 14 KOs) by a 12-round unanimous decision by the scores 116-112, 116-112, and 116-112 for their fight on April 26. That comes out to 8-4 in terms of rounds.
Benn appeared close to being knocked out several times in the later rounds when he was getting overwhelmed by Eubank Jr’s punch output.
“I’m flattered that you brought a new trainer Brian ‘BoMac’ in because I know you know you’ll need it. He’s a great trainer. You’re a great coach, ‘BoMac.’ I’ve got great love for you, but you can’t polish a turd,” said Conor Benn during today’s kickoff press conference in London for his rematch with Chris Eubank Jr. on November 15.
Bringing in ‘BoMac’ as Eubank Jr. may be overkill for the rematch with Benn, as this is a fight that Chris Jr. could win training himself. He has too much experience, and he has a bad style for Benn with his inside fighting ability.
McIntyre’s Confident Prediction
“It’s going to be easier this time because he’s got his number. It’s hard to get away when someone has beat your a**, It’s hard because it’s already stuck in your head,” said coach ‘BoMac’ McIntyre today, predicting an easier victory for his fighter Eubank Jr. in his rematch with Benn.
