IBF Welterweight Title on the Line

The two fighters are set to rematch after their previous fight on March 1, 2025, ended with an eighth-round disqualification of Donovan for hitting Crocker after the round had ended. It’s more important this time because the vacant IBF 147-lb title will be at stake.

The winner of the fight will be in a position to make life-changing money against the likes of Conor Benn, Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney, and Teofimo Lopez.

Paddy Donovan’s Quest for Redemption

“I’m going to get the job done in tremendous fashion tomorrow. I know the true Lewis Crocker, and he’s not going to beat me. You’re going to see the best me ever,” said Paddy Donovan to DAZN Boxing about his headliner fight against Lewis Crocker for the vacant IBF welterweight title on Saturday.

Donovan, 26, was indeed doing the job on Crocker in their first fight earlier this year, ahead 69-63 on two of the scorecards before he was disqualified by dropping Lewis with a right hook after the eighth round ended.

As the round ended, it looked like Paddy was on the verge of stopping him soon. However, a second after the bell sounded in the 8th, Donovan spoiled things by clocking Crocker with a late hit. In the rematch on Saturday, if we see a carryover from Donovan’s dominance, it should be an easy fight.

Lewis Crocker’s Confidence at Weigh-In

“Do I look nervous? I’m ready for tomorrow. I got to give it everything. I’ve got to fight my heart out. Everything I have trained since I was a kid, I have to show tomorrow, and that’s what I will do,” said Lewis Crocker.

Lewis looked amped up to the extreme at the weigh-in, excited and ready to jump into the ring to begin fighting. For him to be so confident, it can only suggest that he had a good camp and has identified a weakness in Donovan, having broken down tape with his trainer while studying the first fight.
