Norman Jr. Delays Testing

Norman Jr. (28-0, 22 KOs) responded to Bill, telling him he’s “going out of the country” and won’t be back until “near August.” He wants to start testing then.

Bill isn’t letting up with the pressure, pushing VADA on Norman Jr, even with him out of the country, saying “Don’t stop no drug test…VADA goes everywhere.”

Haney Fight Backout Fears

Hopefully, Bill doesn’t use this as an excuse to have his son, Devin, back out of the fight against Norman Jr. That would be the ultimate weasel move. If Haney uses this as a reason for backing out of the fight, his career is going to suffer. It’ll be seen as another loss.

Devin needs to stick with this fight and take the L like a soldier. He might get lucky and win a decision if the judges favor his Jerry style. It won’t be the end of the world for Haney if Norman Jr. knocks him out cold like he did against Jin Sasaki last June. Turki Alalshikh won’t give up on him.

As you can see, Bill is trying to play mind games with Norman Jr, trying to throw him off mentally for this fight in four months. Devin (32-0, 15 KOs) needs every advantage he can get, as he’s not equipped with the chin or the power to be going up against a puncher like the 24-year-old Brian Jr.

Norman Jr. Unaffected by Tactics

It’s a waste of time for Bill to use his wolf-like strategy to mentally shake Brian Norman Jr, because he’s not the type of fighter to get upset at mind games.
