Terence Crawford’s Trainer Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre Unfazed by Turki Alalshikh’s Challenge, Foresees Canelo Alvarez Knockout

Trainer Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre isn’t worried about Turki Alalshikh wanting a toe-to-toe battle between his fighter, Terence Crawford, in a title challenge against undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez on September 13th. Brian predicts that Crawford will “stop” Canelo in the later rounds.

BoMac says Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) will have a “tough fight” for two rounds, but then take over after he’s analyzed Canelo’s fighting style.

Crawford’s last knockout was two years ago against Errol Spence in 2023. However, the power that Terence showed in that fight wasn’t there for his debut at 154 against Israil Madrimov last August.

BoMac Predicts Crawford KO Canelo

“It’s going to be a tough fight in the first couple of rounds. Terence is going to figure it out, and we’ll probably stop him in the late rounds. I know we’re going to win,” said Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre to Boxing King Media, predicting a knockout for Crawford over Canelo.

BoMac wasn’t going to give any hints about how Crawford will fight, but he’s probably going to box through the early rounds. He knows better than to trade with Canelo while he’s still fresh and fighting at full power. The much bigger and stronger Edgar Berlanga found out the hard way what it’s like to trade with Alvarez last September when he was dropped hard by a left hook to the head.

Brian on Madrimov, Canelo

“Madrimov had a tricky style, jumping up and down and s***, but Canelo comes to fight,” said BoMac when asked about his reaction to people saying Crawford had problems against Israil Madrimov.

Crawford never did solve Madrimov’s because he was eating right hands all the way up to the end of the fight. The 12th round was one of his worst in the fight, with Madrimov hitting him with nonstop head-snapping right hands.

At the end of the fight, it was difficult to choose a winner between them. It had been a neck-and-neck battle the entire fight. It depends on what fans prefer—the jabs from Crawford or the power shots that Madrimov was landing. A draw would have been fair, but that would have ruined Turki Alalshikh’s plans for the money fight between Crawford and Canelo.
