Middleweight Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams (18-1, 12 KOs) defeated Patrice Volny (19-2, 13KOs) by a 12 round unanimous decision on Saturday night at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida.
The scores were 118-110, 116-112, and 115-113.

“That was by far the best win of his career,” said promoter Eddie Hearn about Ammo Williams. “The middleweight division is kind of dead now. I think in 2025, it’s time for that man to fight for a world title.”
“Amazing in every way. This is what we train for, tough guys that want to win. My maturity told me I can’t go out and blast out. I have to take my experience from previous fights,” said Williams after the fight. “My coach Cunningham told me to keep pushing him. If he hadn’t told me, I would have lost this fight. I want to be the greatest. I’m coming for it all. World championship, undisputed, I’m coming for it. My corner isn’t allowing me to take easy fights.
Berlanga destroys Gonzalez-Ortiz
– Super middleweight Edgar Berlanga (23-1, 18 KOs) obliterated an awful-looking Jonathan Gonzalez-Ortiz (20-1-1, 16 KOs), dropping him three times en route to knocking him out in the first round of a scheduled ten round chief support fight tonight.
Gonzalez-Ortiz, 35, never stood a chance, getting dropped moments into the fight with a left hook to the head from Berlanga. Seconds later, Edgar tagged the Puerto Rican Gonzalez-Ortiz with a right hand that dropped him down like a sack of potatoes on the floor.
For the coup de grace, Berlanga landed a right that sent Gonzalez-Ortiz into the ropes, where he slid down to the canvas in a heap. The referee Chris Young then stopped the fight. The time was, 2:31 of round one.
After the fight, Berlanga announced his plans to enter the free agent market, leaving Matchroom, and fighting one from his hit list in this order:
- Jaime Munguia
- Jermall Charlo
- Caleb Plant
The order of Berlanga’s list clearly shows who his first two choices are. Plant is the last option, and it’s obvious that Berlanga is not excited about that fight, as he always lists Munguia and Charlo ahead of Plant.
