Thurman Wrecks Jarvis in Three, Shuts Down the Hype Train with a Third-Round KO

Brock Jarvis talked a big game, but Keith Thurman wasn’t interested in the fairy tale. After an even first couple of rounds, Thurman decided enough was enough in the third, folding Jarvis in half with a brutal body shot before rattling his skull with a right hand-left uppercut combo.

Jarvis tried to climb off the canvas like a man who just realized he made a terrible career decision, but Thurman wasn’t in a generous mood. A few more bombs and it was lights out. No controversy, no excuses—just another Aussie hype job put in the bin.

Jarvis opened strong, landing a decent left hook and working the body, but Thurman soaked it up and got comfortable. By round two, the American was settling in, letting his hooks fly, and setting up the inevitable execution. Round three? Just a formality.

Zerafa Actually Does His Job, Ay Folds in Seven

Michael Zerafa finally delivered something worth watching, steamrolling Germany’s Besir Ay in seven rounds. Ay, strolling in with a shiny but misleading 19-1 record, was clearly out of his depth from the opening bell. Zerafa, ever the drama queen, claimed post-fight that he “might have broken his right hand” in the second. Of course, there’s always an excuse lined up.

Regardless, he had no trouble battering Ay into submission. By round seven, Ay had hit the floor twice, looking anything other than a serious fighter. Referee Chris Condon took pity and stopped the slaughter before it got any uglier.

Mateo Tapia Flattens Sergei Vorobev in Five

Mateo Tapia blasted Sergei Vorobev with a savage overhand right in the fifth, sending him wobbling like a drunk on a Sunday morning. The Russian made an effort to stand, but the referee wasn’t having it. Cue the dramatic protests from Vorobev’s corner, as if their man wasn’t just folded like a cheap deck chair.

Shawn Porter summed it up perfectly: “The power came from the ground up, picture perfect.” Translation? Tapia detonated a bomb, and Vorobev had no clue where he was after it landed.

Tapia had a brief clown moment in the third, slipping to the canvas, but the ref rightly ignored it. Vorobev tried to capitalize and nailed him with a solid uppercut, probably thinking he’d turned the tide. Spoiler: he hadn’t. A few rounds later, he was staring at the ceiling, wishing he had a better chin.
