Is Anthony Joshua Finished? Dillian Whyte Doesn’t Think So

Wembley Stadium erupted on September 21 when Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) hammered Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) into the canvas, scoring a fifth-round KO and dropping him four times. While the fight put Dubois in the spotlight, it’s left fans debating AJ’s future: a rematch, retirement, or something else entirely?

Dillian Whyte, Joshua’s former opponent, chimed in on the chatter when speaking to Sky Sports: “He’s still got a lot of fight left in him.” Whyte praised Joshua’s power despite the loss: “He’s still got a lot left in the tank and he’s still a big draw. And as you can see in the fight, he’s still a big puncher. He had Dubois going before Dubois landed the finishing blow.”

Whyte also called out fans’ obsession with records: “People put too much emphasis on a defeat in heavyweight boxing. That’s why a lot of fights don’t happen.”

Meanwhile, Whyte prepares for his own fight on December 15 against Ebenezer Tetteh, the same guy Dubois destroyed in one round back in 2019. As for Dubois, he’s back in February, while Joshua’s rematch prospects are simmering for now. Is AJ done? Not if Whyte has anything to say about it.
