Boxing Results: Charlie Edwards Defeats Georges Orgy in UK!

At York Hall, Bethnal Green, London, UK, Friday, over DAZN promoter Nisse Sauerland presented in the Main Event Charlie Edwards defeated Georges Orgy for the vacant WBC International Silver Bantamweight title.

In the Main Event Charlie Edwards, 19-1 (7), #118, of Epsom, Surrey, UK, defeated southpaw Georges “Tino” Orgy, 17-4-1 (2), #118, of Angers, FR, over10 rounds, for vacant WBC Int’l Silver Bantam title.

In the first three rounds Orgy kept coming forward jabbing while Edwards did the countering having an edge. In the fourth round Orgy turned from southpaw to orthodox and back to southpaw when it didn’t have any effect on Edwards.

In the fifth round Orgy finally got through the defense of Edwards movement landing right hooks marking the side of the head of Edwards with red marks. In the sixth round Edwards started “twirling” his right hand, landing several on the chin of Orgy taking the round. In the eighth round Orgy had Edwards on the defense the entire round.

In the ninth rounds final minute Edwards grabbed Orgy for the first clinch of the fight for Referee Kevin Parker. In the tenth and final round Edwards finally stood his ground landing a flurry of punches then back on the move. In the final minute Orgy landed a lead left to the chin of Edwards. In the final seconds Edwards ended with another flurry of punches.

All scores 98-92.

Super Welter Kingsley ‘Obi’ Egbunike, 9-3-1 (1), of Acton, London, UK, defeated Jordan Dujon, 9-4 (0), of Barnet, London, UK, over 10 rounds for vacant Southern Area title.

In the third round Egbunike rocked Dujon with a combination on the chin halfway through the round. From the fourth through the seventh Egbunike out landed the defensive minded Dujon. In the eighth round Dujon turned things around having Egbunike against the ropes at the end of the round.

In the ninth rounds last seconds Dujon nailed Egbunike with a right to the chin and backed off. In the tenth and final round Dujon had the edge in a close fight.

Super Middle Oliver “Great Dane” Zaren, 11-0 (2), #? Roskilde, DNK, defeated John “Hard Knocks” Harding, Jr., 11-3-2 (2), of New Cross, London, UK, over 8 rounds.

In the first rounds final half minute a right from Zaren on the chin and down went Harding for an 8 count from referee Mark Bates. In the second through the eighth rounds Zaren continued to dominate Harding.
Score were 80-71.

Welter southpaw Elliot Wale, 10-0 (6), of Sidcup, Kent, UK, stopped Joseba Diaz, 7-2 (3), of Lumbier, SP, at 0:52 of the fifth round of a cheduled 6 rounds.

In the third round Diaz was marked under both eyes from Wale. In the fifth round a body shot from Wale and down went Diaz for an 8-count. In the final minute a body shot from Wale dropped Diaz for the count.
Super Feather Christian Fetti, 1-0 (0), of St. Albans, UK, defeated Eliecer ‘The Gas’ Quezada, 24-23-3 (9), of Nicaragua and Gerona, SP, over 4 rounds.

In the first two rounds Fetti had an edge in this slugfest. In the fourth and final round Quezada again like in the previous round switched to southpaw and back. In the final fifteen seconds they landed punches to the chin at the same time. This was the best action round and the closest.
