Ryan Garcia Lights Up the Gym: Leaked Sparring Footage Hints at Trouble for Devin Haney

Ryan Garcia looked great with a leaked video of him destroying his sparring partners, training for his April 20th title shot against WBC light welterweight champion Devin Haney on DAZN PPV.

What was especially impressive was the foot speed of the young star Ryan (24-1, 20 KOs), chasing his sparring partners down to tear through them against the ropes with left hooks and chopping right hands.

The visuals of Ryan overpowering his sparring partner with blistering fast left hooks had to have sent chills down Devin’s spine. The defensive artist Haney has his work cut out for him on April 20th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

A Knockout Message for Haney

“Can someone warn Devin Haney that it’s not going to be fun,” said Ryan, sending a message to Haney while taking a short break from beating the daylights out of his sparring partners.

Ryan’s left hook looked lightning-fast and lethal. If he connects with his left hook on Haney, it could be night-night at any point in the fight.

One of Ryan’s sparring partners almost fell through the ropes, showing the ferocity of the punches he was landing.

Ryan must show quick foot speed and an ability to cut off the ring, considering Haney (31-0, 15 KO) is expected to run around the ring all night, trying to keep from getting taken out. Haney’s last opponent, Regis Prograis, couldn’t cut off the ring, and was helpless to land his big power shots.

The Power to End a Fight

Prograis had the power to win, but he was too slow at cutting off the ring on Haney and was dominated. The shots that Ryan was landing against his sparring partners were the type that would end his fight with Haney.

Ryan’s power looks like it’s gotten better since he moved up to 140, and he’s much more dangerous in this weight class than he was while campaigning at 135.
