By Ken Hissner: At Coliseo Roberto Clemente, San Juan, PR, Saturday over DAZN WBO Minimum champion Oscar ‘El Pupilo’ Collazo of Puerto Rico defended his title stopping WBA Asia Minimum champion Garen ‘Hellboy’ Diagan of the Philippines after six rounds.

In the main event, WBO Minimum champion southpaw Oscar ‘El Pupilo’ Collazo, 8-0 (6) #104 ¾, of Newark, NJ, Villalba, PR, stopped southpaw WBA Asia Mini champion Garen ‘Hellboy’ Diagan, 10-4 (5), #104, of General Santos City, PH, after the sixth round of a 12.

In the first three rounds, Collazo had his way with swelling around the left eye of Diagan, which was bad by the end of the second round from southpaw Collazo’s right hooks. Through four rounds, punches landed were even.

In the fifth round final minute, Collazo hurt Diagan to the body and head with a three-punch combination. Between rounds, the corner tried massaging the legs of Diagan, who had cramps and could not continue.

Super Flyweight Juan ‘El Indio” Carlos Camacho, Jr., 16-1 (8), #114 ½, of Juana Diaz, PR, stopped Jorge ‘El Huesos’ Orozco, 17-4-2 (11), #114 ½, of Guadalajara, MEX, after six rounds of a 10.

In the first round, Orozco controlled what little action there was until the final minute when Camacho landed a body shot, and down went Orozco. Upon rising, Camacho was all over him, dropping him again with a left to the ribs, and down he went again for the count.

In a rematch, former world Light Flyweight champion Angel ‘Tito’ Acosta, 24-4 (22), #107 ½, of San Juan, PR, defeated Carlos ‘Chocorroncito’ Buitrago, 37-10-1 (21), #109, of Managua, NIC, over ten rounds.

In their first fight, Acosta stopped Buitrago in the twelfth and final round. In this fight in the first round, Acosta swarmed all over Buitrago, giving him a good beating.

In the second round, for the first minute, both slugged it out until Acosta took over, landing some nine punches and having Buitrago against the ropes and looking to the referee to stop it when Buitrago finally fought his way off the ropes.

In the third and fourth rounds, it was all Acosta. Through four rounds, Acosta outlanded Buitrago 68-29.

In the seventh round, Buitrago held his own, though Acosta easily won the round. In the eighth round’s final seconds, Buitrago landed a left hook to the chin of Acosta, stopping him in his tracks. After nine rounds Acosta out-landed Buitrago 135-66. In the tenth and final round, Buitrago had Acosta holding on due to fatigue, it seems.

The scores were 99-91 twice and 98-92.

Super Featherweight Yan Santana, 9-0 (9), of LaRamona, DR, stopped Justin ‘Relampago’ Maysonet, 4-1 (3), of Vega Alta, PR, at 1:11 of the first round of a 6.

In the first round, ending the first minute, Santana pinned Maysonet in a corner and landed half a dozen punches without return, causing the referee to call a halt.

Light Heavyweight Yair Gollardo, 5-0 (4), 175, of MEX, defeated southpaw Kevin Johnson, 3-2 (1), #172, of Wichita, KS, over six rounds.

In the first two rounds, southpaw Johnson used an effective jab, but when Gallardo landed body shots, he hurt Johnson. In the third round, Gollardo got his right eyebrow cut. He hurt Johnson when he got him against the ropes.

In the fourth through the sixth rounds, Johnson kept Gollardo at the end of his jab and some right hooks to the chin, but Gollardo got in plenty of left hooks, swinging wildly, trying for a knockout, having Johnson hurt with several.

Scores were all 58-56. Gollardo outlanded Johnson 120-54.
