Image: Tyson Fury hopping mad after Price's promoter calls him outBy Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten heavyweight Tyson Fury reacted with anger at being called out tonight by Frank Maloney, the promoter for British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion David Price.

Here’s part of what Fury said “To be honest, [Audley] Harrison is the biggest bum in boxing, and my reaction to David Price and Frank Maloney calling me out, that midget, yeah, I’ll fight Price any day of the week. You see, you’re a bum from Liverpool. It’s personal between me and you. I’m going to do you some serious harm, you big stiff idiot. Also, you are getting it. Call me out, call me any names and you are getting it.”

Here’s what Maloney had to say: “Matt Skelton is out there. If Tyson Fury wants to fight instead of being a coward twitting on twitter that he wants to fight. Let’s go, there’s a half million pounds on the table. He’s never seen that. We will make that fight next if he’s brave enough to come forward and stop using twitter to send these stupid message. That’s the fight that all of Britain wants to see.”

Well, I guess Fury didn’t like being called a coward because he sure was up in arms when he was being interviewed tonight. Fury was working up a lather and had to be cut off twice during the interview.

It’s too bad Fury probably won’t take the fight with Price. I don’t know if it’s him specifically or his promoter Mick Hennessy that don’t want the Price fight, but either way the fight isn’t going to get made. Fury too busy fighting guys like 41-year-old Martin Rogan and 38-year-old Vinny Maddalone I guess.

Fury and Price might as well fight, because I don’t see any of them coming close to winning any world titles. I rate EBU heavyweight champion Kubrat Pulev as better than both of them put together, and he’ll be the one that eventually picks up one of WBC heavyweight title after Vitali Klitschko retires. Deontay Wilder is out there waiting for his chance as well, and he’s the much better talent than either Fury or Price.

That’s why these guys need to fight each other and take the money while boxing fans in the UK are still remotely interested in the fight. Believe me, once Price and Fury get blasted out by someone the interest in fans seeing them fight each other will die down completely.

As for Price, his promoter Maloney will probably put him in with 45-year-old Matt Skelton next as Maloney continues with the soft match-making for Price. Don’t know why Maloney wants to waste Price’s career on fights like this but I guess he has his reasons. Must be a good way of getting easy cash without having to worry about Price getting knocked cold if he were to put him in with someone that’s actually any good.
