Image: Tyson: Haye won’t make it past the 2nd round against WladimirBy William Mackay: The most exciting heavyweight in memory Mike Tyson is picking IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko to destroy WBA heavyweight champion David Haye this Saturday.

Unlike Lennox Lewis, a fellow Brit, who is picking Haye to win, Tyson has no dog in this hunt. He’s American and not Ukrainian. Tyson is just picking the guy he thinks is going to win the fight.

Tyson sees the talent level between the two fighters being too much for Haye to bridge in order to get a win. Tyson has got a good point. Haye has never been known for his talent. He’s more of a fighter with good hand speed and power, and has gotten with those assets.

Tyson said this about the Klitschko-Haye fight: “Haye shouldn’t last more than two rounds with Klitschko. I like David Haye, but I think Wladimir Klitschko is too superior and too strong. I respect Haye as a human being, but he hasn’t earned this fight. Klitschko should wipe him out. Klitschko is great champion and I think Klitschko’s going to beat him. I just don’t think Haye can keep him off.”

Haye will likely be moving a lot and keeping his arms far out in front of him to stop Wladimir from landing his jabs, left hooks and right hands. Haye’s guard is a lot like Juan Carlos Gomez, a Cuban fighter that Vitali Klitschko knocked out not too long ago.

Vitali had a hard time landing his shots through Gomez’s guard until Gomez tired out and Vitali poured on the steam to take him out. Haye won’t be able to move a lot in this fight like he’s done in the past, because Wladimir will cut off the ring on him and prove to have a lot better accuracy with his jab compared to some of the older heavyweights that Haye has feasted on to get to this fight.
