Image: Look for Haye to expose Klitschko’s weaknesses on July 2ndBy Dallan O’ Donnell: When WBA heavyweight champion David Haye steps into the ring in Hamburg to face WBO, IBF and IBO world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko he will be the most hated man in the arena. Not just because of His antics from two years ago when he wore a t-shirt depicting the decapitated Klitschko brothers as Haye stood as an almighty conqueror.

Everyone from journalists to fans knew that was a step too far. But also because of his brashness throughout the build up this time around, culminating in the use of foul language, directly aimed at Klitschko who sat mere centimetres away from Haye for the HBO face off. However way Haye wants to promote the fight he obviously does not mind being the villain.

All that being said I pick Haye to Beat Klitschko come July. Call it a gut feeling, but I don’t see Haye having too much trouble from Klitschko. The only real tool in the Klitschko armoury is his jab followed by a right hand that is thrown at a ferocious heavyweight punchers pace but compared to David Haye pace it doesn’t come close. Haye is very quick, probably the quickest heavyweight since Mike Tyson and he can throw a combination of punches from all angles. I would go as far to say Haye would possibly have enough in his locker to Knock Klitschko out. Klitschko has been knocked out before by lesser opponents and although he has established himself as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time because of his dominance over a weak division he has never faced anyone as dangerous as Haye.

The fight itself however will be dull, especially the first few rounds where Klitschko will go looking for Haye but he wont be anywhere to be found because he will be running much like he did in the Valuev fight. Haye will eventually come forward and will find Klitschko’s subject chin and test it. The question is will it pass the test? Don’t get me wrong Klitschko has power too and if allowed will punish Haye who himself has also been knocked out, at cruiserweight.

And for those of you who ask about the future for Haye and the Klitschko’s? Well I can only see a Haye win in July against Wladimir followed by his retirement in October, proceeded with Vitali calling Haye out for perhaps the best part of a year, to exact revenge for his brother and a possible fight next September. Who wins that one? It’s too tough to call. Vitali vs. Haye is the fight that should have been made from the get go.
