By Daniel Tagg: There are plenty of fighters who could get the chance, good fighters who have not yet become house hold names. Fighters like Andre Berto, Marcos Maidana and Timothy Bradley are hovering around getting great fights but haven’t quite made it yet. Then you have fighters who are world class and have earned being called that, yet they aren’t great fighters, well not yet anyway. Fighters like Kermit Cintron, Sergio Martinez and Paul Williams. These would be hard fights for Pacquiao considering that they fight at a higher weight than him and for Pacquiao to get to that weight he would loose his biggest attributes as a fighter.
Then come the legendary fighters who have achieved all their is to achieve in boxing and will be very tough opponents. Juan Manuel Marquez is a great fighter but not at welter weight, which will probably be Pacquiao’s last weight he’ll be fighting at. Then we have “Sugar” Shane Mosley, who in his last fight against Floyd Mayweather looked really old (apart for the first two rounds) so he is out. Then we have Mayweather. He used to be a great defensive fighter and who would beat most people, but if he steps up in class he stands a good chance of getting beat. He has never really wanted the fight with Pacquiao so he is not likely as a opponent.
With a limited choice of people for Pacquiao to fight I would like to see him go out with a bang in the stadium that Muhammad Ali fought Joe Frazier in manila. I would pick Andre Berto, Sergio Martinez and Juan Manuel Marquez as his last fight. Marquez wont be at his best in that fight but he’s an excellent fighter and a lot of Mexican fans want to see it. It would also be great for boxing if Mayweather and Pacquiao both fight each other as their last fights before they retire.
