By Ronald Peter: On November 6 2010 the great month of boxing will start with WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez (29-0, 26 KO) taking on Rafael Marquez (39-5, 35 KO) in what should be a very exciting fight. Marquez will be Lopez’s toughest opponent by far and I think he’ll pull the upset and KO the young undefeated star. This fight will be fought at a very high skill level and is must see for see for all boxing fans.

Then we get Antonio Margarito (38-6, 27 KO) vs. Manny Pacquiao (51-3, 38 KO) on November 13 2010. This fight will be for the vacant WBC light middleweight title at the catchweight of 150 pounds. For all the reports of the pound for pound king not taking his training seriously and with Bob Arum saying ” If the fight happened on Saturday Margarito would win the fight.” I still see the PacMan knocking Margarito out, in Margarito’s last 2 fights he has looked very slow and plodding, his only style is to keep coming forward, this will play into Pacquiao strengths. I still don’t think Antonio Margarito even deserved the huge payday that goes along with facing the #1 fighter in the world, as a huge Manny Pacquiao fan I was very disappointed when this fight was announced, but it should be a real brawl until it lasts.

On the same night in England we get Audley Harrison (27-4, 20 KO) vs. David Haye ( 24-1, 22 KO) for Haye’s WBA heavyweight title. This fight is real mismatch in favour of the champ and with Audley’s questionable chin and David ‘s speed and power I think Haye will win with a impressive KO inside of six rounds. Haye showed he has some real power in his last fight against John Ruiz, I don’t think Harrison has a better chin than Ruiz, but Harrison did show in his last fight against Michael Sprott that he at least has the punchers chance. Hopefully after this fight David Haye will get serious about taking on one of the Klitschko’s, this is the fight that most boxing fans really want to see.

November 20 2010, Newly crowned WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (45-2, 24 KO) will defend his title and have a rematch with Paul Williams (39-1, 27 KO) at the reported catchweight of 157 pounds. Their first fight ended with Paul Williams winning a controversial MD, both fighters are looking for a big win in hopes a getting a shot at Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao in the near future. At the age of 35, Martinez seems to be in his prime of his career and I’m expecting him to win this fight by UD or even KO, Williams did not look very good in his last fight against Kermit Cintron and took some big shots before the 4 round debacle ended. Sergio Martinez is one of the best counter punchers in all of boxing and he’ll figure out Paul Williams’s pattern in the same way Floyd Mayweather figures out fighters patterns and pick him apart all night.

Top 5 pound for pound fighter, Juan Manuel Marquez (51-5, 37 KO) will defend his WBA/WBO lightweight titles against the very aggressive Michael Katsidis (27-2, 22 KO) on November 27th in Las Vegas. This is the best fight available at lightweight and with these 2 fighters you know it’s going to be a tough, brutal war like event. In Katsidis’s last fight he went to England and TKO’d the undefeated prospect Kevin Mitchell in 3 rounds, Katsidis seems to be on the top his game, In Marquez’s last fight he won a 12 round UD over Juan Diaz, this was their second fight and it seemed to be a tune up or a recovery fight after the beating he took from Floyd Mayweather, but Marquez passed the test with flying colors. Judging from Marquez’s last fight I think he still has enough in him to beat Katsidis by late round KO or UD, plus he has the added motivation of maybe getting a third fight with Manny Pacquiao.

Also on November 27 the vacant WBC super middleweight title will be on the line when Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO) faces Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO) in Helsinki Finland. Both fighters are coming off losses, but I see this fight being the most action packed of the whole super 6 tournament, it should be a real war from start to finish. This to me is the hardest fight to predict because one thing I know is someone is going to get KO’d but who ? I think this fight will play out like the Kessler vs. Froch bout with both fighters exchanging big shots, Froch took some hard right hands from Kessler in that fight, Abraham will land those same right hands but finally KO Froch in the late rounds.
