Image: Mayweather v Mosley: Floyd signs contract!By Peter File: Well it looks like were all going to get at least one of the fights we all wanted to see. You put Mayweather-Pacquiao aside then the biggest fight after that is Mayweather-Mosley it all looks set for May 1st at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Mosley has signed his side of the contract now were just waiting for Floyd to sign, but afterall Floyd loves the mind games and keeping people waiting.

I have called this “The Main Event” mainly in comparison to the upcoming March 13th clash between Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey is being titled “The Event”, I won’t be the only one in saying this but if Pacquiao-Clottey is “The Event” then Mosley-Mayweather is “The Main Event.”

It’s very tough for me personally to break this fight down because both are such fantastic fighters, two of the best of their era’s. You have Floyd “Money” Mayweather 40-0 (25 KO’s) and “Sugar” Shane Mosley 46-5 (39 KO’s) just reading them stats say everything about the two fighters.

I think it’ll be a very competitive fight and cagey at times, you’ll have Floyd using his razor sharp punching e.g. the straight right and the left hook which we’ve all seen before, not to mention his defence which is nothing short of genius and his excellent footwork. This will play a huge part if Floyd is to be victorious in this fight.

I see Mosley getting frustrated at times because he can’t get to Floyd because of his movement but I also see Mosley having success, if he can get Mayweather toe to toe but we all know saying it is one thing doing it is another. Mosley possesses great boxing ability himself as we’ve all seen in previous bouts but he also possesses a lot of power e.g. the Margarito fight especially which was phenomenal, but he was against Margarito who doesn’t have exactly great boxing ability and who wasn’t constantly moving around the ring like Mayweather will do.

As I said before it’s hard to break this fight down. I like both of these fighters and see both fighters having spells in the fight but if I was to predict i’d say Mayweather by around an 8 rounds to 4 decision.

Mayweather hasn’t signed yet but I think we can all expect an announcement sooner rather than later for May 1st. Bring it on.
