Boxing Fans Demand For Mayweather-Pacquiao showdown

floyd6666By Alon Calinao Dy: Golden Boy Promoter Oscar Dela Hoya is planning to have a rematch between the two top boxers Marcos Rene Maidana (35-4, 31KO’s) and undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. (46-0, 26KO’s) this coming September if Mayweather’s camp would give a second chance to Argentine boxer.

So far, Maidana’s trainer Robert Garcia still believes that his fighter has lots to offer in how to beat Mayweather. He knows that boxing fans will demand for another fight in the coming days due to their competitive nature, because there are some boxing aficionados who think that Maidana had exposed the American boxer.

However, many boxing analysts say that Pacquiao should be the next opponent for Mayweather due to their opposite styles. Mayweather has an excellent defense whereas Pacquiao has a very good offense when it comes to fighting. In this case, everyone loves to see them in the ring. But because both parties have no real talks, a dream match will never happen anytime soon.

I think this would be a difficult fight for Mayweather because Pacquiao is quicker and stronger than Maidana. He has amazing footwork, that even Tim Bradley has admittedly in the post conference that Pacquiao could move at different angles due to his incredible speed.

To cut a long story short, I don’t think majority of the fans are going to demand for Mayweather versus Maidana and Pacquiao versus Marquez rematch. It seems to me that fans from around the world want Pacquiao-Mayweather showdown. I guess fans are very desperate about this fight. That’s what really matters now for them. I believe this is the right moment for them to face each other because they are not getting any younger anymore.
