Mayweather will be serving time in a small cell in solitary confinement.

With a star as big as Mayweather is there’s no way they could put him in with another inmate or have him in the main population. He won’t be in any kind of danger because there won’t be any way that any of the other prisoners will be able to get to him. He would probably be well respected even if he was in the main population but it’s better to be safe than sorry. You never know if there’s someone in jail that has an issue or who wants to become famous by hurting a guy like Mayweather. That’s why Mayweather will be kept away from the other prisoners.

However, Floyd will likely do a lot less than 87 days depending on his behavior. If he keeps his nose clean, he’ll get out a lot faster.

The time in jail could help Mayweather because it’ll give him more time to think and collect his thoughts. He can plot out what he wants to do with the rest of his career. I don’t see him retiring after he gets out of jail, but you never know. I believe that the time will help Mayweather realize that he was right to offer Manny Pacquiao a 60-40 deal, because if the Filipino isn’t bringing in the same numbers as him, then he doesn’t deserve a 50-50 deal.

I’d like to see Mayweather emerge from jail with the goal of knocking off some of the hyped and overrated fighters that have been calling him out. He needs to knock some of them of and by then Pacquiao will probably have been beaten by Tim Bradley. That’ll change Pacquiao’s mind about wanting a 50-50 deal. I can’t imagine Pacquiao still insisting on getting an even deal once he loses to Bradley.
