Image: Buboy: I know what will happen to Bradley against PacquiaoBy Chris Williams: Buboy Fernandez, who works in WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao’s corner, says he knows what’s going to happen on June 9th to challenger WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley when he meets up with Pacquiao. Buboy unfortunately isn’t saying what it is, but you imagine it’s some kind of vision where Bradley is beaten up and left on the canvas like many of Pacquiao’s other opponents during his career.

Buboy told the Manila Bulletin “I know what’s going to happen to him [Tim Bradley]. I have been watching Bradley’s fights every days. I’ve been carefully studying Bradley’s fights with Cuban Joel Casamayor and American Donald Camarena.”

In other words, Buboy has been studying Bradley’s fights against southpaw fighters, and it looks like he’s spotted a weakness. I’m sure Bradley won’t be losing any sleep over Buboy’s findings. I can’t think of anything Bradley did wrong in the Casamayor fight. If Buboy is seeing a weakness in Bradly from that fight, then he must be looking awfully hard because Bradley fought the perfect fight against Casamayor and was rarely hit. It was one-sided. Maybe Bradley was supposed to be perfect against Casamayor, but who is? Casamayor still has some of his skills, so Bradley wasn’t going to be able to do everything perfect.

Pacquiao has accomplished a lot in that past, but when you get older things change. Buboy is seeing Bradley as being another guy that Pacquiao will beat, but I don’t think so. A lot of Pacquiao’s biggest wins in the past three years have been against guys at catchweights, or looking completely shot or coming off of recent beat downs.

Look at Pacquiao’s recent wins:

* Oscar De La Hoya – old and weight drained

* Miguel Cotto – fighting at a catchweight, likely weakened and having been recently beaten down by Antonio Margarito.

* Ricky Hatton – weight drained from having taken off a ton of weight during training camp.

* Shane Mosley – completely shot.

* Joshua Clottey – He supposedly was sick the night before the fight from something he ate.

* Juan Manuel Marquez – He fought his heart out and arguably deserved to be the winner in their November fight, just as a lot of boxing fans thought Marquez deserved to be the winner in his other two fights with Pacquiao.

Buboy thinking he knows what’s going to happen isn’t relevant, because he doesn’t know. Pacquiao hasn’t fought anyone like Bradley, and this isn’t a case of Pacquiao facing a guy made to order for him. There won’t be a catchweight for this fight and Bradley isn’t old or coming off of a recent beating.
