Will Khan dash off without fighting Peterson if the IBF & WBA give him back his titles?

Image: Will Khan dash off without fighting Peterson if the IBF & WBA give him back his titles?By Scott Gilfoid: I can’t remember ever seeing a fighter cry the way that Amir Khan is about his precious titles he lost to Lamont Peterson. Khan has been bellyaching 24/7 since the moment those belts where taken from him by Peterson in an impressive performance by the Washington, DC talent.

It was one of those Rocky-like fights by Peterson where he overcame the odds that were stacked against him to school the favored Khan and make him look like an uncoordinated amateur.

I think I’ve really lost any respect I once had for Khan. Now I just loath the guy and can’t wait until he gets stretched again when he’s finally some day put in with someone that can punch. Don’t hold your breath waiting for Khan to be matched against another puncher because he’s going to be steered away from anyone with a hint of power.

Okay, let’s just say the WBA and IBF do give Khan back his traps. Do you think Khan will stick around to still fight Peterson? I sure don’t. Once those belts are back in Khan’s possession, I bet he’ll be gone and won’t think twice about not fighting Peterson. I think Khan will continue as if he were still on course for his Mayweather fight and will go look for an old toothless lion like Shane Mosley to pick up an easy win against to give the appearance that he’s among the elite in the welterweight division. Khan won’t bother defending the IBF and WBA belts again. He just seems to want the titles just for the heck of it. It’s like a glutton just wanting more but without the need for it.
I see Khan gone the next second when/if the IBF and WBA put the belts in his hands. A rematch with Peterson will be a distant memory as Khan heads in the other direction for he hopes will lead to a big payday fight against Mayweather so he can make real his vision.

Khan recently dug up a bunch of nothing by finding some drop in boxing guy, who people refer to as the “Mystery man”, who happened to have what looked to be a harmless conversation with the WBA supervisor during Khan’s fight with Peterson. There was nothing more to it than that, yet Khan using that as his reasons to get his loss overturned and not just having an immediately rematch ordered. I mean, Khan wants the whole thing to be erased as if the fight had never happened based on nothing. Can you imagine what that of thing could lead to if the WBA and IBF cave in on Khan’s request. You could have Khan or other fighters looking around crying about how the judges took too long to give their scores or claim they were unfairly penalized when they shoved someone clear across the ring to cover up for the fact that they couldn’t fight on the inside to save their lives.
