Marquez sees Bradley as tougher to fight than Pacquiao

By Chris Williams: 38-year-old Juan Manuel Marquez still prefers to fight WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao next, but if he can’t get that fight then Marquez, who turns 39 in the summer, will go ahead and look for the next best thing and he feels that’s WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (28-0, 12 KO’s).
It’s hard to beat Bradley because he’s short and very strong. Some guys see his lack of height and big power and falsely assume he’s not strong. But Bradley’s strength shows itself on the inside where he muscles his opponents and lands short punches to win rounds. He’s not like Pacquiao, who you can counter because of his wildness and lack of fundamentals.
Marquez has already said that if Pacquiao doesn’t fight him by the end of 2012 then he’ll forget about the Pacquiao fight. Marquez doesn’t want to be waited out until he’s too old before he’s given another rematch. We just saw Pacquiao beat a 40-year-old Shane Mosley by a lopsided 12 round decision. Mosley had been trying to get a fight with Pacquiao for over two years back when Mosley was still fighting at the top of his game. He didn’t get a fight with Pacquiao until after Mosley was beaten by a lopsided 12 round decision by Floyd Mayweather Jr. and was given a gift 12 round draw in his fight against Sergio Mora.
Marquez doesn’t want to wait forever for another Pacquiao fight, so he’s looking to take the Bradley bout to capture his World Boxing Organization light welterweight title if Pacquiao wants no part of him. I think Pacquiao doesn’t want the risk involved with another fight because Marquez really boxed effectively against the Filipino and the entire world pretty much saw Marquez as the winner of that fight, not Pacquiao.

Thank goodness I’m not Filipino, it’s okay to not have a favorable opinion of Pacquiao. Spoon fed too many easy fights, the world saw how limited Pacquiao was against Marquez. The man should retire now while he’s still ahead, although slightly diminished after the Marquez fight.
Marquez has 0 win, 2 lost and 1 draw against Pacquiao. It is time to move on and fight someone else.

Bradley will headbutt marquez all night long. And after marquez lost to Bradley, he will cry out of “headbutting” and “robbery” again.

This is just a jealousy. Marquez knew that Pacquiao is WAY BETTER than Bradley, but he just does NOT admit it how good Pacquiao is. Admit your 2 losses and move on.
Of the 36 rounds, marquez did NOT knock Pacquiao down at all (ZERO) while Pacquiao knocked marquez down 4 times. And still does not want to admit the lightning shock.
A big reason Pacquiao may NOT give marquez another chance is that marquez has lost TWICE to Pacquiao and he still shows no respect to his superior Pacquiao.
Marquez, your boss Pacquiao won’t give you a $5 million job again. Period.
JMM is right. Bradley is a tougher fight than Pacquiao. Any boxer who uses his head more than his fists is a tougher fight.
Pacquiao and Marquez must meet again to determine once and for all who the real winner is. Boxing fans were divided because of Pacman’s poor boxing performance when he last fought Marquez that led to a controversial win. I believe Manny Pacman will outbox Marquez this time and win impressively to regain his lost image in their recent showdown although he won by majority decision according to judges scorecards. Many boxing fans were dismayed too at what they saw in Manny’s below par performance. I see Marquez changes his strategy of moving aggressively instead of moving backward. It would be an interesting and a more exciting fight if ever they meet again in the ring.

You are aware you morons that Manny has won the last two fights against Marquez and drew the first. Unfortunately records are not decided by Mayweather fans sat on their crusty sofa’s in middle-America, but by judges, who watch the fight up close, in real time, and who don’t have slow motions replays and biased commentary. These people have years of experience judging real fights, and they have got the decisions correct in the last 3 fights between the two. Your opinions truly are irrelevant. For anyone to suggest that the results of these fights were injustices, or to blankly ignore the actual decision and state that Marquez “won” then you are absolute deadbeats who should start watching WWE or MMA.
I agree. Who has Bradley fought that makes him so great. He has potential, but to say he can beat Pac or even Marquez is non sense.

marquez should accept his defeat and the judges decision..he can fight bradley anytime he wants but it doesnt mean tim bradley is better than pacquiao..Its easy to say when you fought someone whom you have lost that he is not tough anymore and if you fought a fighter for the first time you say that this fight is different and he is more tougher..

Marquez just beat Pacquiao in 90% of the world’s eyes and Bradley would beat Pacquiao because he would force him backwards. Thats really all it takes, to stop the forward movements of Manny. That’s why Arum will choose Peterson or Cotto over Bradley. Even though Bradley convincingly beat Peterson and is available.
He would be tougher because of his style. Bradley in a way fights like Evander Holyfield. When he throws a combo his third shot is a headbutt!
Manny is done. He has not looked good or had a knock out in years. This is when he is fighting less than stellar opposition.
