Povetkin, 32, has already faced his voluntary defense against 42-year-old Cedric Boswell in his first title defense earlier this month on December 3rd. Boswell was ranked near the bottom of the WBA at no.14 when he was picked out by Povetkin’s management team for a fight.

Now Povetkin is looking to fight another voluntary defense rather than facing his #1 mandatory challenger Hasim Rahman (50-7-2, 41 KO’s) for his next fight. The WBA will determine if Povetkin can skip his mandatory defense or not when they rule on this matter.

Rahman’s promoter is reportedly unhappy that Rahman is being bypassed by Povetkin, as you would guess.

Huck has never fought at heavyweight before and is one of the top cruiserweights in the cruiserweight division. However, he’s been looking to land a big money fight against one of the heavyweight champions recently.

He attempted to get a fight with WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko with no luck. At heavyweight, Huck will likely have a lot of problems, as he’s not even considered to be the top cruiserweight in the division, and now he’s looking to face one of the top heavyweights. However, the fight will make money for both Huck and Povetkin if the WBA allows it to move forward.
