McKenna (McJack): Polish heavyweight contender Marius Wach (27-0, 15 KO’s) believes he has a legitimate chance to upset WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO and Ring heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (58-3, 51 KO’s). Wach and Klitschko will clash in Hamburg, Germany on November 10.

Klitschko is currently on a 16 fight winning streak and chalked up his 51st KO when he stopped Tony Thompson in July. At the moment Wladimir appears unbeatable to a large segment of boxing fans, but that could work against the 6’6” KO artist. One only has to go back into boxing history to see how many “unbeatable” fighters fell to overconfidence. Perhaps the most shocking defeat in recent times was when Buster Douglas KO’d heavy favorite Mike Tyson in 1990. No one thought Buster had even a remote chance of defeating “Iron Mike”, but he had confidence in himself, and wound up dominating Tyson.

By Jason Kim: #14 WBA, #15 IBF, #15 WBO Mariusz Wach (27-0, 15 KO’s) has the one ingredient he needs to beat IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (58-3, 50 KO’s) on November 10th and that’s the power in both hands. If there’s one thing that you absolutely need to beat the fragile-chinned Wladimir, it’s big power because he’s clearly vulnerable against big punchers, as we’ve seen in his knockout losses to Corrie Sanders, Ross Puritty and Lamon Brewster.

Wach and Wladimir will be fighting in front of what will likely be a huge sellout German crowd at the O2 World Arena, in Hamburg, Germany. The fans are going to be clearly on Wladimir’s side in this fight, so Wach isn’t going to be able to count on loyal Polish fans in supporting him in high numbers to help him win this fight. I’m sure some of his fans will make it to the fight in Hamburg, but just not enough to where it’ll make a difference for him.

By Jason Kim: IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (58-3, 50 KO’s) is expected to be fighting for the first time without his long-time trainer Emanuel Steward next month on November 10th against contender Mariusz Wach (27-0, 15 KO’s) at the O2 World Arena, Altona, in Hamburg, Germany. For the 36-year-old Wladimir, he’ll be fighting without Steward’s help for the first since since he fought Danell Nicholson in December 2003. Steward has been working with Wladimir consistently for the past eight years, and likely won’t be able to work his corner due to Steward still recovering stomach surgery.

Steward has had a huge affect in shaping the Ukrainian’s career turning him from a vulnerable brawler into a near unbeatable boxer/puncher during this time frame. Steward’s record with Wladimir is an incredible 16-1, showing the positive affect that he’s had on his career. Steward pretty much turned Wladimir into a Lennox Lewis type of fighter with his tendency to throw a lot of jabs, straight right hands and using a lot of clinching to keep shorter opponents from getting their shots off in close.

By Jason Kim: IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (58-3, 51 KO’s) is coming into his November 10th fight against #14 WBA, #15 WBO heavyweight contender Mariusz Wach (27-0, 15 KO’s) with a 16 fight winning streak when they meet up at the O2 World Arena, Altona, in Hamburg, Germany.

While that’s not as long a winning streak as the 32-year-old Wach with his 27-fght winning streak, the difference here is that Wladimir accumulated those victories over quality opposition for the most part, whereas Wach picked up his wins over weak 2nd and 3rd tier opposition.

McKenna (McJack): Polish heavyweight hopeful Marius Wach (27-0, 15 KO’s) will receive the opportunity of a lifetime when he takes on WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO and The Ring heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (58-3, 51 KO’s). Wach will tangle with the dominant heavyweight champion on November 10 in Hamburg, Germany.

“Dr. Steelhammer” has not lost in 8 years and is presently on a 16 fight winning streak. 12 of those victories have come via the KO route. Under the tutelage of world class trainer Emanuel Stewart, Wladimir at the age of 36 only appears to be getting better. His skills have been refined out of necessity due to his fragile chin. After Klitschko’s 3rd KO loss he was advised by those closest to him to retire. Even his big brother Vitali suggested it was time for him to hang up the gloves.

While a lot of boxing fans and writers are dismissing the 32-year-old Wach’s chances of beating Wladimir you have to give him a good chance of winning the fight if he’s able to stun Wladimir with one of his big right hand shots.

Wach definitely has the power to end the fight with a single shot. He may not have the accuracy to get the job done quickly but if he lands his bombs he’ll win this fight. Although somewhat inexperienced, Wach has some respectable wins over the likes of Christian Hammer, Jason Gavern, Jonathan Haggler and Tye Fields. Those wins were quality victories for the 6’7 1/2″ Wach, as he showed off his power and proved to be a good finisher in those bouts. That’s perhaps the best thing about Wach’s game.

Wladimir, 36, has faced some other big punchers in the last five years in Lamon Brewster, Samuel Peter and David Haye, but none of them have the right hand power that Wach has going for him.

If Wladimir is hit with one of Wach’s big shots on November 10th it’ll likely be lights out for Wladimir. Wach hits too hard and Wladimir’s chin is too fragile to be taking big shots from a puncher like Wach.
