Price vs. Harrison, my prediction

Image: Price vs. Harrison, my predictionBy Mark Havey: This weekend will see a Heavyweight clash between David Price and Audley Harrison. Price is the hard hitting mountain from Liverpool. He has managed to make tough men appear to be cursed with glass jaws. Audley Harrison was hugely impressive as an amateur and won Olympic gold in 2000. As a professional he has been far from inspiring. Credit where it is true, he has had a few good fights, but not many.

Some people unequivocally agree with me. Others say I am being foolish for stacking such high odds against a big heavyweight like Harrison. But I have been fooled by Audley Harrison before, and it will never happen again. Everyone has heard his big claims in the past. He seems confident every single time. look at the way he was talking before the Haye fight, then compare it to the actual fight. Again Harrison is saying “the pressure is off me” “I’m back in love with boxing” the list goes on. Harrison says he was injured for his title fight against David Haye. So why did he go through with the fight? Money I suspect. I’m sure Harrison is being paid well for this fight, and I’m sure that Harrison was picked to face Price because he talks a good fight.

If Harrison is stopped early its hard him fighting in a big match again. If he wins he is right back into the big time and could be looking at a title fight next year. Price doesn’t have much to gain from this fight. If he stops Audley with a better time than David Haye, people will take notice. If he were to lose people will say he committed career suicide. I really believe that this is the biggest mismatch this year in the heavyweight division. I could be wrong. In a way I hope I am. I was once a fan of Audley Harrison and always hoped he would be a world champion.

I can’t see the fight going past the first half of the fight. I think that Harrison will throw little with the game plan of surviving as long as possible. I’m picking round 4 but I wouldn’t be shocked if it came in round 3.
