Price, 28, is being brought a lot slowly by his promoter despite having an extensive amount of amateur experience including an Olympic Bronze medal in 2008.

Price’s promoter has him moving slowly to where he may get a title shot against one of the Klitschko brothers in 2-3 years if he’s able to keep beating the domestic level fighters like Sexton, who could be a really tough test for Price. It isn’t that Price doesn’t have good offensive skills, because he does have good power and a wide assortment of punches from which to choose from. Price’s problem is he has a tendency to get hurt when hit with big shots.

Price hasn’t been hurt a pro yet his backers like to point out when you mention him as having a questionable chin, but then again Price has been facing 2nd and 3rd tier opposition exclusively since turning pro and has yet to face one puncher. He’s not going to get knocked out if all he’s facing are guys with moderate to low power. Sexton falls into the category of having medium power. He’s not a weak puncher but he’s not close to being a big puncher by the same token. Sexton can box well and has a good jab, but that’s about it. Price should be able to win this fight as long as he doesn’t get hit with anything too big if Sexton loads up on his shots. Sexton will likely be fighting scared against Price and that’ll really help Price out because Sexton likely won’t want to risk getting hit with one of his big shots in order to save himself the pain of being knocked out and possibly hurt.
