The chance of a big upset is there but Rafael Marquez may need to pull the performance of his career and maybe he’s past that stage. Juan Manuel Lopez is unbeaten and improving every fight, he’s a pound-for-pound star like Marquez, but while Marquez is moving down in the rankings, Lopez is moving up.

Lopez is the fighter with a bright future and this fight should be another step to the glory that awaits him. Marquez though proved he’s not completely gone after a storming knockout of Mexican rival Israel Vazquez. Marquez need just 3 rounds to dispatch the bloodied warrior.

Marquez has taken many beatings and maybe at 35 he’s on the way out, all the wars are bound to catch up with him sooner rather than later. Lopez is ferocious and is very capable of ending Marquez tonight, his punch is excellent but his overwhelming speed is what does his opponents, also his work rate and accuracy all put together is just too much.

Marquez will stick with the younger fighter for around 5 rounds but Lopez will be too strong and being the taller by 2 inches he’ll start to land his trademark hurtful shots before the referee or his corner will pull Marquez out around the 9th.

On the undercard the Super Six offers two of its replacement fighters in Light Heavyweight Glen Johnson and Allan Green. Green failed to do anything against Andre Ward in his first fight as the replacement for Jermain Taylor. Now the winner has the chance to be straight into the Semi-Finals. Glen Johnson is still a tough fighter but i believe we’ll finally get to see what we wanted to see against Ward from Green.

In my opinion, Johnson will give Green problems all through the fight but Allan can keep at distance and use his extra speed to take a points victory.
