Image: Klitschko vs. Adamek and Chisora will be a much better fights than Klitschko vs. HayeBy William Mackay: I’m glad that IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) has decided to take on both Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) and Tomasz Adamek (43-1, 28 KO’s) in his next two fights in 2011 instead of facing WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (25-1, 23 KO’s). Adamek and Chisora will both come to fight and will make it entertaining throughout by attacking Wladimir and looking to make a fight of it. With Haye, all I can see is a bunch of running around the ring with Haye trying to avoid getting hit.

Every once in awhile, Haye would likely try to take advantage of Wladimir when he initiates a clinch. Haye would probably open up with some rabbit shots and hope to brain Wladimir with one of them. I could see Wladimir falling down after getting clobbered in the back of the head and then the ring would be showed with garbage at angry fans as Wladimir is taken out of the ring on a stretcher while Haye is disqualified for throwing a rabbit punch.

It’s much better with Wladimir facing guys that will come at him in the more traditional sense and look to exchange with him the way fighters should. I can’t stand watching Haye run around the ring without doing anything for ages, and then going nuts when he gets an opponent trying to clinch. His last fight against Audley Harrison was like watching two petrified fighters that had laced up the gloves for the first time.

Neither of these guys wanted to do anything until the 3rd when Haye finally threw a few shots that had Harrison trying to clinch. Once he had him trying to grab, Haye was at his best flurrying. Wladimir doesn’t need this. He needs a fighter that won’t throw rabbit shots and won’t run around the ring. I don’t care if Wladimir never fights Haye. He doesn’t need to deal with that kind of fighter. Chisora and Adamek are much more appealing fights.
