Kimbo Slice defeats Hackmann, looks terrible

By Dan Ambrose: Fighting for the third time as a professional boxer, former web brawler and MMA fighter 37-year-old Kevin “Kimbo” Slice (3-0, 2 KO’s) defeated Charles Hackmann (0-1) by a four round unanimous decision on Friday night at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Oklahoma. The final judges’ scores were 39-37, 39-37 and 39-37.

Slice showed no ability to block a punch and was taking clean shots to the head the entire fight. He bounced around from the inside to the outside, which was only time he was getting tagged. By the 4th round, Slice was starting to look exhausted and his punches had lost a lot of the steam on them. Luckily for him, Hackmann looked even more tired and wasn’t pelting him nearly as much as he had in the first two rounds.

Slice did look powerful when punching to the head and body with hooks and roundhouse right hands, but he looked like an MMA fighter trying to find his way around a ring. He was able to outwork a guy with a 0-0 record in Hackmann, but Slice has so much to learn in such a short time if he’s to make to the top. At 37, he doesn’t have a lot of time and looks pretty ripe for someone that age.

I know Slice likes to compete but I can’t see him ever getting beyond the 2nd tier stage in his career. Right now, Slice is a 3rd tier fighter and I can see a lot of 2nd tier fighters having an easy time with him due to how crude he is as a fighter.
