Katsidis needs to turn things around with his career so that he can keep moving upwards to stay around for another future title shot. Katsidis was knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez in the 9th last year in a failed attempt to capture Marquez’s WBA/WBO lightweight titles.

Katsidis was mentioned recently as a possible opponent for WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios for his next fight in November. However, it’s not certain now whether Rios will pick Katsidis, as Rios is now looking at a possible fight against Britain’s Kevin Mitchell next instead of Katsidis. But whether Rios accepts him or not, Katsidis will have no shortage of offers for fights because of his name and his exciting style of fighting.

Katsidis just needs to make sure that he doesn’t blow it against Lozado, because he can punch a little. Katsidis needs to jump on him quickly before he gets his confidence so that he can make it an easy night. Lozada was stopped by the light hitting Paulie Malignaggi by a 6th round TKO last year in December, and then suffered a loss recently to Pier Olivier Cote in a 1st round knockout in March.

In Katsidis’ last fight, he took a real pounding against Robert Guerrero in a one-sided 12 round decision loss. Katsidis was way out of his league in that fight and it’s clear now that he made a mistake on accepting the fight.
