proksa333By Allan Fox: Former EBU middleweight champion Grzegorz Proksa (28-2, 21 KO’s) will return to the ring this Saturday night in a scheduled 6-round fight against journeyman Lee Noble (15-24-3, 3 KO’s) on the undercard of the Carl Frampton vs. Kiko Martinez card at the Odyssey Arena, Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom.

Proksa, 28, is trying to get a tune-up victory under his belt before he faces middleweight contender #6 IBF Osumanu Adama (20-3, 15 KO’s) on March 29th at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino, in Verona, New York, USA. Proksa has already fought Noble in the past, knocking him out in the 3rd round in 2009.

Proksa, #8 WBA, #14 WBO, took a big step up in class in his last fight against WBA World middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin last September and was blown out in only five rounds by the hard hitting Golovkin. The southpaw Proksa made a big mistake of trying to go right at Golovkin and match him power shot for power shots.

What Proksa quickly found out was that he couldn’t take Golovkin’s big power shots, and he ended up getting knocked down three times in the fight before it was halted in the 5th.

Proksa is going to have to change his way of fighting because he’s not going to be able to KO everyone he faces, and he’s going to find guys that can punch hard enough to get him out of there unless he makes some changes to his game.

Noble, 25, is no threat to Proksa at all due to his lack of power. Noble has lost his last two fights, and it’s rare that he wins fights when he faces quality opposition. As poor as Noble’s record is, he does have decent skills and a solid chin. He’s only been stopped by Proksa and Martin Murray during his 7-year pro career.

On the same card as Proksa-Noble this Saturday there will be the following fights:

Lee Selby vs. Martin Lindsay
Kiko Martinez vs. Carl Frampton
Andy Lee vs. Anthony Fitzgerald
Jamie Conlan vs. Mike Robinson
Eamonn O’Kane vs. Gary Boulden
