Image: Froch-Mack, Bellew-Bolonti, Broner-DeMarco - Where does the upset come?By Rusty Nate: So as the weekend approaches and the buzz of the Saturday night fights from the UK and the US start to boil over I thought I would have a quick little write up on my thoughts……

From the UK…

Carl Froch (29-2-0) vs. Yusaf Mack (31-4-2)

I don’t see this as being a hugely exciting fight like the Froch vs. Bute encounter. To be fair to them though the promoters & fighters have managed to do a wonderful job of building the event set to take place in Nottingham.

I certainly don’t think Mack is a bad fighter, he is a good solid performer to best of his abilities, his problem on Saturday I think is going to be that his abilities are not up to the same standard as Froch.

He always has a chance of course as does any fighter in any fight so there maybe a few hiccups along the way for Froch but I would be surprised if Mack was to be victorious. I would say Froch by KO around the middle rounds, maybe earlier.

Good luck to them both on Saturday night!

The under card see’s Tony Bellew tackle Roberto Bollonti. I think this is more of a standard progression fight for Tony, I don’t really see him having to many issues with Ballonti despite his #5 world ranking and I would expect a late stoppage from Bellew or unanimous decision by land slide. But it’s the Light Heavyweight division and things do happen from time to time when two 14 stone men are throwing punches!

Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1) Vs Adrien Broner (24-0-0)

We then fly ourselves to the States where DeMarco defends his world title against the self proclaimed next “Cash Cow” of the sport, Adrien Broner.

Again I don’t see that this fight will be a surprise outcome. I completely expect Broner to play it safe for his first fight at lightweight, outbox DeMarco thoroughly and maybe flash a few moves here and there in order to keep it exciting. He may push for a late stoppage but my money is on another one sided unanimous decision.

You could say “its his first fight at the higher weight and he may be surprised” but I don’t think he will be silly enough to trade blow for blow in this bout.

On the undercard Seth Mitchell takes on Jonathan Banks. This fight I believe has the biggest chance of an upset because of the aggressive tendencies that can creep into the game plan. I still think that Seth Mitchell will take this down by a KO even as early as rounds 3-6 but there is definitely potential for a phantom punch landing and changing the outcome.

Overall I wouldn’t say that we are likely to see much in the way of classic fights this weekend but they are certainly fights that will tell us a bit more about the level of the winners, Bellew, Broner and Mitchell more so than Froch as we all know what he’s about. I just hope the Carl Froch that showed up to fight Jermain Taylor doesn’t reemerge this weekend!

I also hope Broner feels he has something to proves and goes out with the idea of a KO.

What do you guys think will happen, where will the upset come?
