Travis Kauffman: I Want It More Than Quezado, I will be the WBU Champ On Nov 30th

Heavyweight contender Travis Kauffman, is set for a home town showdown, against Manuel Quezado, for the vacant World Boxing Union Inter-Continental Heavyweight crown, on the Marshall Kauffman King’s
Boxing promoted ‘GET READING TO RUMBLE’ mega event at the Santander Arena, Reading, PA, on Saturday 30th November 2013.

Since turning pro in 2006 Travis has racked up an enviable twenty six wins, nineteen by stoppage finish, and just the single loss, against Tony Grano in September ’09.

Even though this isn’t his first tilt at a Championship – having secured the WBF Inter-Continental title in May 2010, with a sensational second round stoppage of Youngstown, Ohio’s Chris Koval – Travis is so determined to secure the coveted WBU crown, that for the first time in his career he has recruited a new member to his training team, former World Cruiserweight Champion Al Cole.

Travis clearly feels that the introduction of the former World Champ is the ace up his sleeve, that will ensure his success on November 30th, as he made clear when he spoke earlier.

“I don’t underestimate him at all, he may not have boxed for a while but he’s been fighting in MMA, so he is fight ready.

He’s had more championship experience than me, but I have a lot of experience in the amateurs and I’ve had a lot of professional experience as well.

I’ve been extremely busy, this is my fourth fight in less than a year, I’ve dedicated myself in camp and there’ll be a new Travis Kauffman on the 30th, which I don’t think anybody has ever seen.

I’ve been sparring Tomasz Adamek, he’s been helping me for November 30th and I helped him for his November 16th fight.

I don’t think you can get better sparring than I’ve had for this fight, I’ve also sparred Brian Jennings and we’ll be brought him back into the camp, I’ve also been sparring Monte Barrett, so you can see I’ve been sparring World class fighters.

To prepare me for my fight, besides my father Marshall Kauffman, Al Cole a former Cruiserweight Champ of the World, he’s helping train me.

I don’t like to have a whole bunch of people around me, I’m not someone who has an entourage of trainers and the like.

This is the first time I’ve worked with Al Cole, sometimes he’s a little frustrated when we’re learning something new, but he’s aching for me to win the Heavyweight title, he held the Cruiserweight title for six years and was unbeaten, but he never won the Heavyweight title

I’m really up for it, I’m training really hard, I’m really enjoying my boxing and I think everything’s going in the right direction.

I feel I want it more than he wants it, I’m really enjoying my boxing and I will be the WBU Champion on November 30th.”

Travis Kauffman versus Manuel Quezada, for the WBU Inter-Continental Heavyweight title, takes place on the Marshall Kauffman King’s Boxing promoted GET READING TO RUMBLE event at the Santander Arena in Reading, PA on Saturday 3oth November 2013 Tickets, priced $100, $75, $50 and $35. Tables of 8 cost $750 and be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com or call 610 587-5950. SATCHELL AND FLANNIGAN GET BLACKPOOL SEND-OFF AFTER SIGNING WITH BOXNATION

Boxing fans will get the last chance to see British and Commonwealth flyweight champion, Kevin Satchell, and Prizefighter winner, Terry Flannigan, on a VIP Promotions show on Friday November 15, after the pair were recently snapped up by Frank Warren and BoxNation TV.

The duo will form part of a top-draw card at the Blackpool Winter Gardens, along with Amir Khan’s brother Haroon and local man Jack Arnfield taking on Max Maxwell. While the whole show will be streamed live and free on VIPBOXING.TV, with VIP hoping to beat their previous best of over 15,000 viewers.

Unbeaten in 11 outings, Liverpool’s Satchell has proved sensational after stopping local rival Paul Edwards for the Commonwealth crown, and then finishing former champ Chris Edwards for the British title last year. The 25-year-old has since defended both belts and will be looking to conquer Europe next.

Former English super-featherweight king Flannigan, meanwhile, is looking strong at 21-0. The Mancunian has Prizefighter wins over former British champions Derry Matthews and Gary Sykes on his ledger, and in April this year ‘Turbo’ beat former world lightweight champion Nate Campbell inside the distance.

“Kevin and Terry are two of the best young boxers in Britain,” stated VIP head, Steve Wood. “They are both exciting to watch and when you look at the names that they have on their records it just shows their quality.

“They’ve both been overlooked by SKY TV in the past, but I’m delighted that Frank Warren has signed them up to BoxNation TV which is a dedicated boxing channel and will give them the exposure they deserve.

“We’re on a high at VIP Promotions, we’re producing champions all the time, and it’s fantastic to see Kevin and Terry get the rewards for their hard work and commitment. I believe both these lads can be world champions and can’t wait to get working with BoxNation on the path to ensuring they get their chances.

“The Winter Gardens is one of the UK’s best boxing venues and this show is top quality. It’s a going to be an exciting evening and some tickets are still available. If you can’t get along then go to VIPBOXING.TV and watch live and free on the night.”
