Wilder-Harrison: If 5 weeks isn’t enough for Audley to get ready then he’s out of luck

wilder890By Scott Gilfoid: British heavyweight Audley Harrison (31-6, 23 KO’s) and American knockout artist Deontay Wilder will be battling on April 27th in the war of the giants at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield.

Wilder stands 6’7”, while Harrison is just a tad shorter at 6’6”. Both guys have huge knockout power, but Wilder is level above with his right hand KO power. Harrison is a southpaw, and pretty much can only punch hard with his left hand when he loads up on it with everything he’s got.

When Harrison agreed to take the fight he made it a point to let his loyal twitter fans know that he only has 5 weeks to prepare for the fight, as if Wilder has any more time than him to prepare.

It’s acceptable for Deontay Wilder to fight Audley Harrison but not David Price?

wilder45By Dominic Sauboorah: Unbeaten heavyweight Deontay Wilder will be FINALLY stepping up in class (if you want to call it that) against Audley Harrison at Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield. The fight has been scheduled for 10 rounds and will be the co-feature bout for the fight between Amir Khan and Julio Diaz.

I do think this is a good test for the unbeaten American as Harrison is a former European champion and world title challenger. What baffles me however is the fact that a certain someone kept yapping on and criticizing David Price for fighting Harrison, yet what makes it any different for Wilder?

Audley agrees to terms for Deontay Wilder fight on 4/27; waiting to sign contract

wilder452324By Scott Gilfoid: The new and improved Audley Harrison (31-6, 23 KO’s) has agreed to the terms for his fight against the gigantic 6’7” Deontay Wilder (27-0, 27 KO’s) for a scheduled 10 round fight on April 27th at the Motorpoint Arena, Sheffield, Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

The fight may be scheduled for 10 rounds, but it’s not going 10 rounds. This fight has got an early KO written all over it. I’m not going to sell Audley short, because I think he’s definitely improved immensely since he took off 20 pounds of blubber that he’d been carrying around since he turned pro in 2001, so I think I think he’s got a punchers’ chance of winning if he can blitz Wilder early.

Audley: I did NOT drop Deontay Wilder in sparring; it was the opposite

harrison445By Scott Gilfoid: Audley Harrison (31-6, 23 KO’s) finally spoke up to wipe out the nasty rumor that has been floating around for the past couple of months from some of his well-wishing fans about him supposedly having knocked the talented 6’7” KO artist Deontay Wilder down in a sparring session while Harrison was getting ready for his fight with British/Commonwealth heavyweight champion David Price last October.

Audley said this on his twitter about that so-called incident: “I’ll put the stupid Internet talk to bed right now. I DID NOT put down @BronzeBomber in sparring. In the fact the opposite happened.”

Audley: Deontay Wilder punches like a mule, and he’s fast

wilder324By Scott Gilfoid: British heavyweight Audley Harrison (31-6, 23 KO’s) was really slathering on the compliments over the head of the talented 6’7” heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder (27-0, 27 KO’s) after the hard-hitting American gave Audley some valuable sparring last year while helping him get ready for his ill-fated fight against British/Commonwealth heavyweight champion David Price.

Audley said to the dailymail.co.uk “Deontay Wilder punches like a mule, and he’s fast. I had four weeks of him.”

Some boxing fans think that the punishment that Audley took in the sparring sessions Wilder depleted Audley to where Price could have knocked him out by just blowing on him in their October 2012 fight.

Wilder vs. Harrison on 4/27

wilder45By Steven Ocallaghan: If the rumors are true, then it looks like we will have an interesting match up between the American prospect Deontay Wilder (27-0, 27 kO’s) and a resurgent 2-time Prizefighter champ Audley Harrison (31-6, 23 KO’s) on April 27th at the Motorpoint Arena, Sheffield, Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

It’s an interesting match-up as the 2 heavy’s had some good sparring last year in the run up to Audley’s fight with David Price. Both guys have got KO power, are big with a very long reach.

Deontay at 27-years-old has a perfect 27-0 with all by KO. Ok some of his opponents have been questionable but you have to respect the fact that he has stopped all before him.

Audley Harrison: I’m taking the fight with Wilder on 5 weeks’ notice

harrison3434By Scott Gilfoid: British heavyweight Audley Harrison (31-6, 23 KO’s) agreed to fight Deontay Wilder (27-0, 27 KO’s) on April 27th next month in Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena. However, in agreeing to take the fight, Harrison stressed the fact that he only has five weeks to prepare for the bout. In other words, it looks like we have the makings of an excuse for Audley for when and if he gets knocked out by the 6’7” Wilder.

I was hoping that Audley would wait until after the fight to start cooking up a good excuse for why he got spanked, but it looks like he’s jumped the gun and is already putting the excuse out there.

Audley Harrison agrees to face Deontay Wilder on Khan-Diaz card on 4/27

harrison323By Scott Gilfoid: British heavyweight Audley Harrison (31-6, 23 KO’s) has accepted a fight with the talented 6’7” knockout artist Deontay “The Bronze bomber” Wilder (27-0, 27 KO’s) on April 27th at the Motorpoint Arena, Sheffield, Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

This fight will be on Amir Khan – Julio Diaz undercard. It looks like Wilder’s promoters at Golden Boy Promotions wanted a token Brit to make it an interesting fight for the locals, so Harrison was given the offer.

It’s too bad Tyson Fury wasn’t free because you can bet Golden Boy would have attempted to drag him into the ring to take the fight.

Deontay Wilder vs. Audley Harrison possible for Khan-Diaz undercard on April 27th

wilder23By Scott Gilfoid: There’s talk of the talented American heavyweight contender/prospect Deontay Wilder (27-0, 27 KO’s) facing British heavyweight Audley Harrison (31-6, 23 KO’s) on the undercard of the Amir Khan vs. Julio Diaz fight on April 27th at the Motorpoint Arena, Sheffield, Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

Golden Boy promotions were hoping to get American Tony Thompson, the fighter that destroyed the UK’s best heavyweight David Price last February, but Thompson is reportedly not excited about getting in the ring with the knockout artist Wilder with his one-punch power.

Harrison, 6’6”, is almost as tall as Wilder, and recently has had a bit of luck in capturing the Prizefighter tournament last month in defeating Claus Bertino, Derric Rossy and Martin Rogan in three fights.
