Weights: Feigenbutz 165.8, De Carolis 167.8

feigenbutz11By Scott Gilfoid: Earlier today, WBA 168lb champion Vincent Feigenbutz (20-1, 19 KOs) made weight for his title defense against Giovanni De Carolis (23-5, 11 KOs) for their fight at the dm-Arena in Karlshrue, Germany. The 20-year-old Feigenbutz weighed in at 165.8 pounds. His opponent #13 WBA De Carolis came in at 167.8lbs.

Feigenbutz needs a win in this fight for him to get the winner of the Felix Sturm vs. Fedor Chudinov fight for the WBA “regular” super middleweight title. Feigenbutz will need to earn his title shot the hard way by going through the 31-year-old De Carolis. However, it could be worse for Feigenbutz.

Vincent Feigenbutz battles Giovanni De Carolis on 10/17

feigenbutzBy Scott Gilfoid: Once beaten WBA interim 168lb champion Vincent Feigenbutz (20-1, 19 KOs) will be defending his title next month against #11 IBF contender Giovanni De Carolis (23-5, 11 KOs) in a 12 round fight at the Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

It’s a decent but hardly great fight for the 20-year-old Feigenbutz. He was hoping to get a title shot against WBA “regular” super middleweight champion Fedor Chudinov, but he’s currently busy facing #4 WBA Frank Buglioni in a little over a week from now on September 26th at the Wembley Arena in London, England.

WBA to order Sturm-Chudinov rematch in December, Feigenbutz upset

Image: WBA to order Sturm-Chudinov rematch in December, Feigenbutz upsetBy Scott Gilfoid: The WBA will be ordering an immediate rematch between 36-year-old former middleweight champion Felix Sturm (39-5-3, 18 KOs) and WBA World super middleweight champion Fedor Chudinov (13-0, 10 KOs) for December following a protest that was made.

Chudinov, 27, has to get past his first title defense against #4 WBA Frank Buglioni (17-1-1, 13 KOs) on September 26th at the Wembley Arena in London, UK. If Chudinov wins that fight, he’ll be facing Sturm in a rematch in December. Chudinov defeated Sturm by a 12 round split decision last May in a very close fight in Frankfurt, Germany.

Buglioni remains upbeat on Chudinov rescheduling

YouTube video
By Adam Beechers: Current WBO European champion Frank Buglioni  16(12)-1-1 remains positive of fighting  World champion Fedor Chudinov 13(10)-0 despite him cancelling their fight for the WBA super middleweight strap. The contest was scheduled for Frank Warren’s card tonight at The SSE Arena, Wembley but the Russian pulled out citing a facial injury.

Buglioni, 26, is fully confident that his promoter has got a date set for the Autumn and says he will be better due to the extra time to prepare. Instead of the World championship fight initially scheduled Buglioni will have to steer past Mexican Fernando Castaneda 23(14)-9 in order to keep the match up alive.

“Things happen and you have to roll with the punches.” Said Buglioni to Kugan Cassius and IFLTV.
